The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued the plan and regulations for the Son La Tourism Gift Contest 2026, calling on all authors with ideas to submit their works to participate.
Accordingly, the competition is open to individuals, groups of authors, professional and non-professional organizations, students who are Vietnamese citizens, and foreigners living, studying, and working throughout Vietnam, regardless of age, gender, or profession, as long as they have full legal capacity.
The competition theme is "The Quintessence of Son La - A Mark of Tourism Gifts". The requirements include showcasing the cultural identity, nature, and people of Son La; possessing distinctive and highly recognizable characteristics, capable of conveying a message about Son La tourism; products that are creative, aesthetically pleasing, suitable as souvenirs for tourists; and products that can be mass-produced, easily preserved and transported, and environmentally friendly. The basic criteria are: Creativity (20%), Son La cultural identity (30%), applicability and commercial viability (30%), and environmental friendliness (20%).

Each author/group of authors may submit a maximum of 5 entries, along with the competition entry documents and the submitted entries being the actual products. The prize structure includes: 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 4 consolation prizes.
