The group of major shareholders owning over 55% of Bamboo Airways' capital has nominated Mr. Phan Dinh Tue, who recently resigned as Deputy General Director of Sacombank , to the airline's Board of Directors.
Two major shareholders of Tre Viet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Bamboo Airways), Le Thai Sam (holding 38.28% of capital) and Doan Huu Doan (holding 16.85% of capital), have just submitted nominations for 7 candidates to the Board of Directors for the 2023-2028 term.
In this process, Mr. Sam and Mr. Doan nominated themselves for the new term and nominated Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Trong and Mr. Le Ba Nguyen. All four candidates had recently resigned from their roles as members of the Bamboo Airways Board of Directors for the 2019-2024 term.
This group of major shareholders also nominated three other candidates: Mr. Phan Dinh Tue, Mr. Tran Hoa Binh, and Mr. Hideki Oshima. Mr. Tue recently resigned from his position as Deputy General Director of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) on June 15th. However, he will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors for the 2022-2026 term. Born in 1966, Mr. Tue has nearly 40 years of experience in the finance and banking sector. At Sacombank, he served as Deputy General Director from mid-2012.

Mr. Hideki Oshima, born in 1962, previously served as the Director of International Relations and Airline Alliances at Japan Airlines, Japan's second-largest airline. In May, Bamboo Airways Chairman Nguyen Ngoc announced that Mr. Oshima would be joining the airline's Board of Directors and Executive Board. In addition to Oshima, another Japanese national, former Japan Airlines Chairman Masaru Onishi, is also expected to serve as a Senior Advisor to the Bamboo Airways Board of Directors.
As for Mr. Tran Hoa Binh, born in 1975, residing in Ward 11, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City, this candidate shares the same name and year of birth as the former Chairman of Saigon FC.
Recently, Bamboo Airways increased its charter capital to VND 26,220 billion, an increase of VND 7,720 billion. As a result, Bamboo Airways has become the airline with the largest charter capital in the domestic market.
The capital increase for Bamboo Airways closely matches the plan proposed by Mr. Le Thai Sam and approved by the company's general shareholders' meeting. Mr. Sam proposed issuing shares equivalent to VND 7,720 billion to convert debt. He stated that he had previously lent the airline VND 7,727.8 billion (including principal and interest) with zero or low interest rates and no collateral.
