Da Lat boasts fresh mountain air and cool pine forests. In an article last year, CNN noted that this city in the Central Highlands is extremely popular with domestic tourists but receives little attention from foreign visitors. Located at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level, its cool weather is a major advantage. Compared to other destinations in Southeast Asia, Da Lat has a significant competitive edge in terms of climate.

However, according to many tourists, Da Lat's competitive advantage of a cool climate in a tropical country has gradually diminished. Recently, Da Lat's weather has become hotter, and most hotels now use air conditioning, compared to 10 years ago when air conditioning was rarely used.
Nestled in the heart of the city is the picturesque Xuan Huong Lake, and Da Lat also boasts French colonial architecture – remnants of which can be seen in old villas and the former train station on the hills. However, these traces are gradually fading, replaced by modern buildings that are increasingly taking over. The photo shows the garden of a 5-star hotel on the shores of Xuan Huong Lake.
Located right in the heart of the city (17 Tran Phu Street) is the Da Lat Cathedral, often called the "Chicken Church" because of the rooster statue (made of hollow alloy, rotating around its axis to indicate wind direction) on the bell tower. Construction began in 1931 and was completed in 1942. Further in the distance is the television tower, dubbed the Eiffel Tower of Da Lat.

Doi Cu Hill, spanning over 62 hectares, is one of the few remaining green spaces in the heart of Da Lat. In February 2023, Hoang Gia DL Joint Stock Company proposed investing in several projects within the Doi Cu Golf Course. Specifically, they proposed building two underground parking garages (7 levels/1 garage) combined with a shopping center and constructing other service facilities to address the parking shortage, especially in the central area of Da Lat. Currently, within the Doi Cu Golf Course grounds, Hoang Gia DL Company is constructing a golf clubhouse.

Outside the city center, Da Lat takes on a different appearance, dominated by greenhouses for growing vegetables and flowers. The photo shows Ward 8, Da Lat City, home to the Valley of Love.
Last year, Lam Dong province requested clarification on the annual rate of reduction in greenhouse area in Da Lat city, with the goal of eliminating greenhouses in the inner city area by 2030.
The current greenhouse area in Da Lat City is 2,693 hectares, accounting for approximately 59% of the entire province.
In Da Lat, greenhouses are built by residents right in the city center (wards 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12), with ward 12 having a particularly high density of greenhouses covering 83.7% of its cultivated area, while wards 5, 7, and 8 have over 60%.
The high rate of greenhouse construction per unit area of cultivated land, coupled with a lack of green spaces and transportation routes within production areas in Lam Dong province, is believed to have negatively impacted the landscape, environment, and tourism development, especially in Da Lat city.
