(PLVN) - Da Nang aims to develop into a professional wedding tourism destination with a diverse range of target customers, including billionaires and celebrities.

With a focus on developing high-quality tourism, following the MICE tourism promotion program, the Da Nang City Department of Tourism has issued a plan for developing wedding tourism and launched a pilot program to attract wedding tourists to Da Nang starting in early 2024.
Immediately after the plan was issued, the Da Nang City Department of Tourism intensified the promotion of wedding tourism and the pilot program to attract wedding tourists to wedding event organizers and domestic and international tourism businesses at major tourism fairs such as VITM Hanoi , ITE HCM, Tourism Expo Japan, SATTE India, etc.
Representatives from the Department of Tourism have held direct meetings with major wedding event companies in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, India, and South Korea to introduce the infrastructure and the pilot program to attract wedding tourists to Da Nang.

In addition, the Department of Tourism successfully organized the Da Nang Wedding Tourism Development Conference 2024 on June 5, 2024; the Vietnam Wedding Tourism Conference 2024 “Da Nang Wedding Tourism – Opportunities and Challenges” on June 6, 2024. It also hosted two international wedding planner famtrip delegations to survey wedding tourism in Da Nang in June 2024 and December 2024.
In 2024, the Department of Tourism advised and organized approximately 50 domestic and international wedding events from markets such as India, Australia, Japan, Taiwan (China), Singapore, and Malaysia. Notably, Da Nang was chosen as the wedding venue for four high-society Indian couples, with over 1,200 guests and dozens of solemn ceremonies and unique, impressive activities. This demonstrates the city's attractiveness and potential for attracting this type of wedding tourism.
On December 15, 2024, the bride Lavania and groom Kuramaguru also received a warm welcome from Da Nang City as part of the pilot program for wedding tourism to Da Nang: A wedding welcome message was displayed on LED screens at the immigration area, and assistance was provided for the quick customs clearance of goods and luggage for the wedding ceremony.
Representatives from the Department of Tourism presented flowers, souvenirs, service vouchers, and best wishes and thanks to the couple for choosing Da Nang as the place to capture the happiest moments of their lives.

Impressed by the warm welcome from the city's tourism industry, the bride Lavania and groom Kuramaguru shared: "The reason we chose Da Nang for our big day is because of the destination's attractiveness, the diversity of high-end resort services, and the dedicated and enthusiastic support from the city of Da Nang."
The couple will hold their wedding over two days, December 16th and 17th, 2024, at the Naman Retreat Danang hotel with nearly 100 guests from Malaysia. The event will include bonding activities, sharing their love story, and expressing gratitude to the guests, in addition to the main ceremonies already held in their home country.

Da Nang aims to become a leading wedding tourism destination in Asia.  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs received a copy of the Letter of Credence for the U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam.On the afternoon of July 2nd, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, Mr. Le Cong Dung, Director of the State Protocol and Foreign Interpretation Department, received a copy of the Letter of Credence from Ms. Jennifer Wicks, Ambassador of the United States of America to Vietnam.  Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung visits and works in Minnesota, USA.From June 28-30, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States, Nguyen Quoc Dung, paid a visit and worked in Minnesota.  Vietnam encourages US businesses to expand investment in high technology.On the morning of June 26th, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung received Mr. Jeff Place, Supply Chain Director of Coherent Group (USA). During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam encourages US businesses to expand investment, especially in high-tech, innovation, and semiconductor industries. |
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Da Nang City Department of Tourism: "Wedding tourism is a niche market with great potential for Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general. We have all the necessary facilities and infrastructure to accommodate wedding events of diverse scales and styles."

In 2025, major hotels in the city and wedding event companies continue to receive numerous bookings for international weddings, signaling strong growth in wedding tourism. This demonstrates the city's correct strategic direction in investing in and developing wedding tourism products, contributing to establishing Da Nang as one of the leading destinations for this unique type of tourism in Asia.
