Through the German Committee for General Education Abroad (ZfA), Germany has organized B2/C1 level German language exams for Vietnamese students studying German in public schools for the past 10 years.

This year, 70 graduating students from the Foreign Language Specialized High School and Viet Duc High School participated in the DSD-II German language proficiency exam. Of these, 62 students successfully passed this challenging test.

The number of students who passed the exam this year is higher than in previous years, and the pass rate of 88% is also higher than the global average of 80%. This not only demonstrates the motivation, determination, and outstanding academic ability of Vietnamese students but also reflects the excellent quality of German language teaching by Vietnamese teachers.

The DSD exam, part of the DSD program, is a collaborative project between the federal level (German Ministry of Foreign Affairs , ZfA Committee) and the state level (Council of Ministers of Culture of the states) and serves as a language certificate for studying in Germany.

This is considered a prestigious "golden ticket," allowing students to study in Germany without needing to take other language proficiency tests.

Many students begin learning German as early as junior high school (at schools such as Ngo Si Lien Junior High School, Dong Da Junior High School, or Trung Vuong Junior High School). Afterward, they continue their studies at one of the two high schools, and at the end of their secondary education, having completed 800 to 1,000 hours of German lessons, they take the B2/C1 level German proficiency exam.

This year, all Vietnamese students who passed the DSD exam applied to German preparatory schools. The majority were accepted into these schools and subsequently went on to study at German universities in STEM fields, business administration, or other disciplines.

On the occasion of this year's DSD-II German language diploma awarding ceremony, Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, the German Ambassador to Vietnam, invited the successful candidates, representatives from the school boards of the five schools participating in the DSD program, and Vietnamese and German teachers to her home.

Here, the Ambassador personally congratulated the students on their success.
