Accordingly, the Plan aims to maximize the province's potential, advantages and differences for rapid and sustainable development; Effectively exploit the advantage of the province's strategic location, which is the gateway connecting the Central Highlands with the Southeast region; Prioritize development drivers, especially transport infrastructure and irrigation infrastructure; Effective use of natural resources, especially mineral resources, associated with environmental protection and adaptation to climate change.
By 2030, the province strives to become a well-developed province of the Central Highlands with a synchronously invested transport infrastructure system; is an important gateway connecting trade between the Central Highlands and the Southeast region; is the national bauxite - alumina - aluminum industry center, the renewable energy center of the Central Highlands region.
With great potential in land and soil, Dak Nong orients to develop agriculture applying high technology, linking the market value chain; Developing resort and eco-tourism based on the advantages of landscape, climate, unique culture, Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark and Ta Dung lake - a place called "Ha Long Bay on the Highlands" ”.
