Today, December 17th, the People's Council of Dakrong district, Quang Tri province, held its 20th session of the 2021-2026 term to discuss and decide on several important local tasks. Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, attended the meeting.
In 2024, the socio-economic situation of the district achieved positive results, with 22 out of 22 socio-economic indicators meeting or exceeding the set plan. The total value of production is estimated at 1,707.525 billion VND, an increase of 16.14% compared to 2023, reaching 103.45% of the plan. Key projects, plans, and projects were decisively implemented.

Investment mobilization for development increased; targets for OCOP products, new rural development, job creation, and labor export exceeded planned goals; and efforts to improve people's lives and implement social welfare policies were carried out promptly. Political security and social order continued to be maintained.
At the session, delegates discussed, questioned, and contributed many important opinions to the reports and draft resolutions submitted by the Standing Committee of the District People's Council, the District People's Committee, and relevant departments. They also voted to approve 10 important resolutions across various fields.
Speaking at the session, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Chien Thang, emphasized: 2025 is a year of special significance, marking the completion of the 5-year socio-economic goals. The tasks set will be immense, with many difficulties and challenges ahead. Therefore, he requested the Dakrong District People's Council to review the targets set forth in the Resolution of the District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, to see which targets have been achieved and which have not, in order to find solutions.
Promoting a democratic spirit is crucial for effectively implementing the three target programs currently underway in the area. Regarding the National Target Program for Building New Rural Areas, the biggest challenge currently is the income criterion. The district needs to develop more fundamental solutions for economic development and increasing people's income.
In addition, we must focus on developing culture and education, preserving cultural values, building unity and solidarity, and resolutely striving to successfully achieve the set goals and tasks.
