Recently, folk dance has become a popular and engaging activity among people in the province. As a result, numerous folk dance clubs, teams, and groups have been established, creating a widespread movement from urban to rural areas. Folk dance, unlike ballroom dancing, doesn't require highly advanced techniques. Instead, it combines simple, easy-to-remember movements with diverse and varied exercises and uncomplicated costumes, attracting a large number of people from urban areas to rural and mountainous regions within the province.

After dinner every day or on weekends, the courtyards of cultural centers and public spaces in many localities throughout the province resound with music, sometimes gentle, sometimes lively. This is when members of folk dance clubs, groups, and teams enthusiastically practice, laughing and chatting happily.

Because the training is free and offers many benefits, folk dance clubs and groups are attracting more and more people to register and participate. Some clubs that initially had only a few members have grown to hundreds. This is a positive sign for the mass cultural and sports movement in the province.

The vibrant activities of folk dance clubs have also made a very positive contribution to the overall goals of the locality, helping to promote the movement of physical training for all citizens, creating a widespread impact throughout residential areas, connecting the spirit of community solidarity, and playing an important role in building grassroots cultural life and combating social evils.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, residing in residential area No. 6, Quang Vinh ward ( Thai Nguyen city), said: Folk dances are divided into three types: festival folk dances, everyday life folk dances, and epic folk dances. All three types share the common characteristic of using dance movements to gently and soothingly tell stories about daily life, romanticized through the dance while still retaining the distinctive features of people's lives. Regardless of the type of folk dance, they are easy to learn, and people of all ages can participate in different segments.

In addition to daily physical training, folk dance clubs in the province also gather core members and practice dance routines to perform at local events.

Beyond bonding during practice sessions, members of folk dance clubs also help each other in daily life, contributing to a common fund to visit each other when sick or in trouble, thus further strengthening community bonds.

Mr. Le Hong Chuong, residing in Van Trai village, Tan Phu ward (Pho Yen city), shared: "As material life becomes more prosperous, the spiritual life of all strata of the people receives more attention. Currently, cultural, artistic, and sports movements in my locality are developing rapidly. Many amateur arts clubs and groups have been established, attracting a large number of people to participate. These are places for meeting, interacting, and sharing a passion for arts, enriching cultural life, and fostering unity and harmony among families, clans, villages, and hamlets, contributing to building a prosperous and happy homeland."

The folk dance movement has flourished and has truly become a beneficial cultural platform, inspiring a spirit of physical exercise and sportsmanship, and improving health throughout the province.

Therefore, some localities have organized folk dance competitions to award prizes, encourage, and select strong clubs with the potential for further investment and expansion.

According to Dao Thi Thanh Tuyen, Secretary of the Dinh Hoa District Youth Union: Folk dance activities in recent times have contributed to enriching the cultural and spiritual life in the district, building the image of confident citizens in the new era. Hundreds of folk dance clubs, teams, and groups have been established in communes, towns, schools, and units throughout Dinh Hoa district, with thousands of members participating. The folk dance movement has contributed to building a dynamic, confident, creative, and committed youth union member workforce. This is also one of the contents contributing to improving the quality of cultural, artistic, and sports activities, following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh, and building livable rural areas.

As can be seen, folk dances are truly diverse and colorful, bearing the distinct historical imprints, cultural values, and traditions of each ethnic group and community in the province. Without the need for a glamorous stage, folk dances are performed anywhere, so they will undoubtedly continue to develop and spread throughout the lives of the people.
