(HNMO) - The Ministry of Information and Communications has just issued a set of indicators to assess and measure the level of digital transformation in journalism.
The set of indicators helps each media organization determine which stage it is in the digital transformation process, thereby enabling them to develop appropriate roadmaps, plans, and solutions for digital transformation.
At the same time, this serves as a basis for establishing a database for digital transformation in journalism with authentic information and data, helping management agencies to develop solutions to promote digital transformation in journalism and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and plans supporting digital transformation in journalism.
The index comprises 42 criteria divided into 10 component indicators and groups of 5 pillars of digital transformation in journalism: Strategy; digital infrastructure, digital platforms and information security; organizational and professional consistency; readers, viewers, and listeners; and the level of digital technology application.
The maximum total score is 100 points.
The level of digital transformation maturity of a media organization is determined based on the total score achieved across 5 pillars/component indicators and is ranked as follows: Weak (below 50 points); average (from 50 to under 60 points); good (from 60 to under 70 points); excellent (from 70 to 80 points); outstanding (above 80 points).
In addition to media agencies monitoring, evaluating, and scoring themselves, the Ministry of Information and Communications authorizes the Press Department to preside over the assessment and evaluation based on the self-assessment results of media agencies.
Annually, the Ministry of Information and Communications will publish the ranking of the digital transformation maturity level of media agencies on the Ministry's electronic portal and the portal of the Center for Supporting Digital Transformation of the Press (developed by the Press Department) at pdt.gov.vn.
