(HNMO) - The Ministry of Information and Communications has just issued a set of indexes to evaluate and measure the level of digital transformation of journalism.
The index helps each press agency determine what stage it is in the digital transformation process, thereby having a suitable digital transformation roadmap, plan, and solutions.
At the same time, this is the basis for creating a database for digital transformation of newspapers with authentic information and data, helping management agencies to propose solutions to promote digital transformation of newspapers, evaluate the effectiveness of programs and plans to support digital transformation of newspapers.
The index set includes 42 criteria divided into 10 component indexes and groups of 5 pillars of digital transformation of journalism: Strategy; digital infrastructure, digital platform and information security; organizational and professional uniformity; readers, audiences, listeners; level of digital technology application.
The total maximum rating scale is 100 points.
The level of digital transformation maturity of a press agency is determined based on the total score achieved by 5 pillars/component indexes and is ranked as follows: Weak (below 50 points); average (from 50 to below 60 points); fair (from 60 to below 70 points); good (from 70 to 80 points); excellent (over 80 points).
In addition to the self-monitoring, evaluation and scoring of press agencies, the Ministry of Information and Communications authorizes the Press Department to preside over the appraisal and evaluation based on the self-assessment results of press agencies.
Every year, the Ministry of Information and Communications will announce the ranking of the maturity level of digital transformation of press agencies on the Ministry's electronic information portal and the portal of the Press Digital Transformation Support Center (built by the Press Department) at pdt.gov.vn.
