At the homestay near Pa Phong Bridge, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the turquoise lake.
Tan A Denh's boat glided smoothly across the calm lake, opening up a vast expanse of space. The rocky mountains on either side formed strange shapes, creating a picturesque scene, with the mountains reflected in the water. As the boat approached the Pa Phong bridge, the scenery softened. The water meandered, forming graceful curves. Sitting amidst this setting, one easily felt the harmony with nature – a place where every movement slowed, becoming gentle and profound.
Ms. Tran Phuong Vy, a tourist from Hanoi , couldn't hide her delight as she recounted her journey. She was particularly impressed with the winding river at Pa Phong Bridge, where the lake's depths encroach upon the cliffs, creating small "bays" with sheer rock faces. "I've traveled to many places, but rarely have I found a place that is both poetic and majestic like this," Ms. Vy shared, adding that she will return with her friends in the near future.

The rocky mountain ranges on either side form small, hidden "bays" of water.
Besides the beauty of the Da River lake, Tua Thang also holds many other "secrets" of nature. The Pe Rang Ky cave is one of them.
Nestled at the foot of the mountain, near the Da River reservoir, Pe Rang Ky Cave possesses a wild and mysterious beauty. The path leading into the cave is not easy, but the deeper you go, the more surprising the space becomes. The cave is about 800 meters long, divided into three large chambers. Each chamber is a world of its own with stalactites and stalagmites of countless shapes. Under the flashlight beam, the stalactite formations shimmer with many colors, creating a magical space like something out of a fairy tale.

Tourists enjoy exploring the Pê Răng Ky cave.
Capitalizing on their existing potential, the people of Tủa Thàng have begun to change their economic practices. Many households have invested in boats to serve tourists, opened food and accommodation services; offered fishing experiences, or simply allowed people to sit in motorboats and enjoy the fresh air amidst nature...
Ms. Quàng Thị Hoa from Huổi Só village said: "Next to Pa Phông bridge, my family has boldly invested in a homestay model and has attracted many tourists from within and outside the province to visit and experience the services; especially international tourists. Through tourism, my family has gained more jobs and a stable income."

In recent times, to awaken its tourism potential, Tủa Thàng commune has been focusing on implementing the Tourism Development Project linked to the socio-economic development plan of the Đà River reservoir tourism area, as well as tourist stops and attractions. Simultaneously, it has comprehensively reviewed and assessed the tourism potential within the commune to fully update the planning orientation. The commune actively calls for, encourages, and attracts businesses, investors, and local people to engage in tourism activities; creating favorable conditions for people to access investment capital for infrastructure development and community tourism development. Particular emphasis is placed on developing tourism products at key tourist destinations, including: experiential tourism (exploring the cultural identity and tangible and intangible cultural values of the Dao, Thai, and Mong ethnic communities associated with community cultural tourism sites); and ecotourism (Sơn La hydroelectric reservoir, caves, sightseeing, and nature exploration)...

Many households in Tủa Thàng have boldly invested in boats to offer experiential services and raise fish in cages.
Mr. Pham Quang Long, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tua Thang commune, said: Recently, the commune has proactively promoted and connected with travel agencies, while also investing in infrastructure through national target programs. In the first three months of the year, the locality welcomed over 1,200 tourists, including 12 international visitors. For the 2025-2030 term, Tua Thang aims to develop tourism into a key economic sector. The commune strives to welcome more than 8,000 tourists, achieving a total revenue of 1.25 billion VND, contributing to reducing the poverty rate to below 9%.
To realize that goal, the locality is developing a plan for ecotourism development around the Da River reservoir, developing experiential tours, and building Huoi Long village into a community tourism destination. At the same time, they are calling for investment to build the Huoi Trang boat dock to serve tourists.

The Pa Phong Bridge stands out against the backdrop of the turquoise lake.
As evening fell, we left Tủa Thàng, the atmosphere slowing down, leaving behind emotions difficult to put into words. Tủa Thàng is simple and peaceful, yet it is transforming day by day. We believe that with its inherent potential and the efforts of the Party committee, government, and people, Tủa Thàng promises to become a memorable destination on the journey of exploring Northwest Vietnam.
