The Military Command of Cam Xuyen District (Ha Tinh Province) said that the unit had just coordinated with the Engineering Department (Military Command of Ha Tinh Province) to transport the bomb discovered in the garden of the people's house to destroy it.
Before that, around 7am on May 25, during the process of digging the foundation to build a house, the family of Mr. Le Khac L. (residing in Hung Loc village, Cam Hung commune, Cam Xuyen district) discovered the bomb at a depth of 5m, so they reported it to the authorities.
Upon receiving the news, the Military Command of Cam Xuyen district sent a working group to be present to protect the scene.
At the same time, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of National Defense of this province came to check and determined that this was a penetrating bomb with the symbol: MK82 (274mm in diameter, 1,54m long, 227kg in weight).
When eligible, the relevant units organized a force to collect and transport the bomb to a safe place to organize detonation according to regulations.
