On April 19th, the University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with FISU Vietnam, organized the workshop "ICT Training in the AI Era".
This is an important event bringing together experts, lecturers, and leaders in the fields of information technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to discuss the latest trends in ICT (information and communication technology) training, especially the application of AI in education .
Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh, Rector of the University of Information Technology, emphasized that the workshop provides an opportunity for industry experts to share and discuss advanced trends in ICT and AI training, especially practical applications in education.

At the workshop, experts and scientists discussed, analyzed, and provided a comprehensive overview of AI applications in education and training, from business-oriented training to applications in foreign language training and university administration.
Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Chairman of the Council of Professors in Information Technology, President of the Vietnam Informatics Association, and President of the Vietnam Faculty-University-Institute Information Technology Club (FISU Vietnam), stated that AI is profoundly changing every aspect of life, requiring the ICT industry to undergo a strong transformation not only to keep pace but also to lead society towards a sustainable future of AI application.
"ICT training needs to be reoriented to prepare human resources to drive effective and responsible AI transformation, for a humane and developed society," said Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy.
According to a forecast by Dr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Head of the Computer Science Department at the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (Da Nang University), the Vietnamese AI market will grow from $470 million in 2022 to $1,520 million in 2030.
In 2023, the number of internet and social media users in Vietnam reached nearly 77 million, accounting for over 79% of the country's population.

The large number of people with internet access, a young population, and the rapid adoption of technology by the Vietnamese workforce are among the strengths for developing the AI market.
By 2030, AI generation is expected to contribute up to VND 14 trillion to Vietnam's digital economy.
Through this workshop, the organizers hope to create a useful forum to promote the development of information technology and AI in education, expanding opportunities for cooperation between universities, businesses, and research organizations both domestically and internationally.
