On April 19, the University of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University in collaboration with FISU Vietnam organized the Workshop "ICT Training in the AI ​​Era".

This is an important event that brings together experts, lecturers and leaders in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence (AI), to discuss the latest trends in ICT (information and communication technology) training, especially the application of AI in education.

Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh, Principal of the University of Information Technology, emphasized that the workshop created an opportunity for industry experts to share and discuss advanced trends in ICT and AI training, especially practical applications in education.

At the workshop, experts and scientists discussed, analyzed, and provided a comprehensive view of AI applications in education and training, from enterprise-related training to applications in foreign language training and university administration.

Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Chairman of the Council of Professors of Information Technology, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Informatics, Chairman of the Faculty - School - Institute of Information Technology Club of Vietnam (FISU Vietnam) said that AI is profoundly changing every aspect of life, requiring the ICT industry to transform strongly to not only keep up but also play a leading role in leading society towards a sustainable AI application future.

“ICT training needs to be reoriented to prepare human resources to promote effective and responsible AI transformation, for a humane and developed society,” said Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy.

According to the forecast of Dr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Head of the Department of Computer Science, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (University of Danang), the Vietnamese AI market will increase from 470 million USD in 2022 to 1,520 million USD in 2030.

By 2023, the rate of Internet and social network usage in Vietnam will reach nearly 77 million users, accounting for more than 79% of the country's population.

The number of people accessing the Internet, the young population and the rapid access to technology of the Vietnamese workforce are some of the strengths for developing the AI ​​market.

It is expected that by 2030, artificial intelligence will contribute to Vietnam's digital economy with a value of up to 14,000 billion VND.

Through the workshop, the Organizing Committee hopes to create a useful forum to promote the development of information technology and AI in education, expanding cooperation opportunities between universities, businesses and research organizations at home and abroad.
