From anxiously following the first cases in Wuhan, China, and assessing its danger in late 2019, to the world's struggle to survive the pandemic. From people self-isolating to avoid contracting the virus, to society becoming vibrant and safe again as it is today.
Humanity endured three years of a pandemic with immeasurable pain and loss, yet overcame the catastrophe spectacularly. Each country and territory in the world, in its own way, combined the experience of "learning from each other to fight the pandemic" into action to save its nation. Vietnam was no exception.
With the Covid-19 pandemic over, the tasks have concluded, and the role of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has gone down in history.
Speaking at the nationwide online meeting on the morning of October 29th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh spent considerable time analyzing, evaluating, and drawing many lessons learned, commending the efforts of the forces fighting the epidemic..., including the significant and crucial contributions of the press agencies and state and social media forces.
Together with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Health, other ministries, sectors, and localities, the Ministry of Information and Communications, along with media agencies, has spent more than three years communicating about the fight against the epidemic, with many emotions, invaluable experiences, and many lessons learned in leadership and management as well as in journalistic work…
When someone does something, especially for the first time, no matter how successful it is, mistakes are almost inevitable. The important thing is that through these mistakes, they learn valuable lessons for similar endeavors in the future.
The same is true for Covid-19. It caused suffering in many ways, but – viewed positively – it was a useful rehearsal for Vietnam in particular and the world in general to prepare for a future with new and unpredictable developments.
As the Prime Minister shared, "we have the right to be proud of our contributions to the common cause and carry with us, each of us, unforgettable memories of this nationwide fight against the pandemic."
Only after experiencing rainy days do we appreciate sunny days even more. Only after experiencing a pandemic do we cherish the days when we don't have to struggle to survive.
Let's confidently place the Covid-19 pandemic in history, never to return! Let's cherish the simple yet precious things that the pandemic has helped us realize in life.
