Imprints on the journey of developing an innovative startup ecosystem

In the period of 2021-2025, the innovative startup ecosystem (IEC) in Can Tho City has been gradually completed, promoting the attraction of many investment resources for the city's IEC support activities. On June 20, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of Can Tho City will coordinate with relevant units to organize a forum to summarize the development activities of the IEC ecosystem in Can Tho City in the period of 2021-2025. This is an important event, marking the journey of development with great efforts and creativity of the innovative startup ecosystem in Can Tho City - the driving force for development of the Mekong Delta region.

Exciting atmosphere at Can Tho City Techfest 2024

Mr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City, emphasized: The Forum aims at 5 goals, first, to summarize and evaluate the results of implementing Plan No. 135/KH-UBND dated June 30, 2021 of the City People's Committee on "Supporting the development of the Can Tho City's innovative start-up ecosystem for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030". Second, to analyze the causes of difficulties and problems in developing the Can Tho City's innovative start-up ecosystem and start-up and creative start-up activities. Third, to propose effective solutions and initiatives to promote the spirit of creativity to promote the development of the Can Tho City's innovative start-up ecosystem in the coming period. Fourth, to create opportunities for connection between managers, investors, individuals, start-ups and organizations supporting start-ups and creative start-ups. Fifth, create strong momentum, improve the quality and effectiveness of successfully implementing the socio -economic development goals and tasks of Can Tho city in the coming period.

The event is organized in a live format combined with multi-platform online broadcasting; expected to attract about 500 delegates, including representatives of institutes, universities, management agencies, startup support organizations, investors, startups and the creative startup community.

In recent years, Can Tho City has been one of the active and leading localities in supporting the development of the innovative technology ecosystem. From 2017 to present, the city has issued programs and plans to support the development of the innovative technology ecosystem. Can Tho currently has 23 organizations and units participating in the management and implementation of innovative technology support activities. In recent times, the city's startup projects have not only increased in quantity but also changed in quality, in which, projects in the field of technology and new business models have appeared more and more, creating a strong influence. Every year, Can Tho City has supported an average of 100 projects/startup enterprises to participate in promoting products/services, accessing the market, and calling for investment capital.

Mr. Ngo Anh Tin affirmed: Vietnam is entering the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution with the aspiration to break through with internal creative power. On December 22, 2024, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, opening up new opportunities for the development of the science and technology ecosystem in Can Tho City in particular and the whole country in general. Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW not only demonstrates strong political determination but also lays the foundation for a comprehensive science and technology ecosystem, where science is linked to the market, technology is linked to practice and knowledge becomes the driving force for sustainable growth.
