From the highland border

In mid-March, the border communes of A Luoi district were bustling with the marching of officers, soldiers, and youth union members of the Border Guard. The City Border Guard Command, in coordination with the City Youth Union, organized the "March Border Month" program. Accordingly, the program awarded 70 scholarships and 30 bicycles to disadvantaged students who excelled academically despite their difficulties; and undertook the construction of projects such as the "National Flag Road" and the "Youth Tree Planting" project, with a total value exceeding 200 million VND.

Joy and a sense of reassurance filled the eyes of Colonel Dang Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Political Commissar of the City Border Guard Command; Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Viet, Deputy Head of Political Affairs ; Captain Nguyen Van Duc, Assistant for Mass Mobilization Affairs; and border guard officers and soldiers, as each gift was respectfully presented to the young sprouts on the borderland, with the hope that they will continue to strive to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies and lives.

In particular, at the solemn ceremony for admitting new members to the Youth Union, the Young Pioneers, and the Communist Party, held at border marker 666 in Lam Dot commune, managed by the A Dot Border Guard Post, 63 members of the Young Pioneers, 15 members of the Youth Union, and 1 member of the Communist Party were "given" a feeling of pride and sacredness, as a reminder to the youth of their responsibility towards the border of their homeland, through fulfilling their duties in studying and working; depending on their age and work, to make practical and effective contributions to the community and society. The strong arms raised, accompanied by the "oath" echoing in the mountain wind and clouds, represent a heroic commitment from the enthusiasm of the youth.

“That commitment has been and is being translated into concrete action. The people in the area in general, members of border patrol self-management groups, and youth union members of the A Luoi District Youth Union have demonstrated a proactive spirit, a high sense of responsibility, and a pioneering spirit in joining hands with the Border Guard to patrol the border and border markers; participating in protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security effectively. Many collectives and individuals have received commendations and certificates of merit from various levels,” shared Lieutenant Colonel Cao Chi Luyen, Deputy Head of Political Affairs of the City Border Guard.

The units in the mountainous areas also carried out the "Border Guard Youth Joining Hands to Clean Up Border Areas" movement, clearing vegetation and cleaning inter-village and hamlet roads...

Reach the plains

Along the maritime border, the Youth Union of the Border Guard Command of Hue City coordinated with other youth organizations to launch the "Youth Month, Border March" and "Green Sunday 2025" campaign at Thuan An Port Border Guard Station (Thuan An Ward, Hue City) with many meaningful activities.

Within the framework of the program, youth union members from various units organized awareness campaigns on maritime and island border sovereignty; the Road Traffic Law; and some first aid and emergency rescue measures for victims to 100 youth union members and young people in Thuan An ward; they also presented national flags and many practical gifts to encourage youth union members, young fishermen, and young people who have continuously stayed at sea to develop production, while spreading the message: Every ship going out to sea is a living landmark, actively participating in managing and protecting maritime and island borders.

The "Volunteer Saturday," "Green Sunday," and "Clean the Sea" movements have been particularly intensified. Border guard station youth branches along the coast, in coordination with youth members from other forces, organize the collection of waste along beaches, residential areas, and lagoons within their assigned areas.

The Youth Union of the Headquarters, Training and Mobile Battalion, implemented the "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful" street and alleyway movement, with activities including beautifying and cleaning the neighborhood and agency; removing illegal advertisements and flyers; eliminating environmental hotspots and illegal garbage collection points; collecting garbage from the river; and taking responsibility for cleaning both sides of the Perfume River within the unit's area of ​​responsibility. As a result, 20 km of coastline were cleaned, collecting 1.2 tons of waste and 242 tons of clumps of waste oil.

"The aforementioned activities attracted 2,170 participants from youth union members, young people, and the general public," said Captain Nguyen Van Duc. He also emphasized that the process of carrying out these volunteer activities for the community, social welfare activities, undertaking youth projects and tasks, and actively participating in youth activities to build new rural areas... further strengthens the bond between the military and the people, creating a strong sense of unity and firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and border security.
