Specific tasks
In the early days of 2026, along the Trung Hoa 1-Trung Hoa 2 inter-hamlet road (Hieu Phung commune), the sight of youth union members and local people weeding, clearing trees obstructing visibility, and collecting garbage along a 3km stretch became familiar. Contributing to the construction of this model road, local youth participated in beautifying the landscape of the 2km Tan Huy hamlet road, renovating the playground at Hieu Phung Kindergarten, and carrying out many other meaningful tasks.
Participating in local volunteer activities, Le Minh Nhut, a student from Hieu Phung High School, excitedly said: “Seeing the road cleaner and more beautiful after everyone worked together, I feel very happy. These activities help make the locality more attractive and help union members and young people gain more experience and better understand the value of sharing and responsibility towards the place where they live.”
According to Nguyen Minh Hieu, Secretary of the Hieu Phung Commune Youth Union, in addition to the five projects on building rural landscapes and infrastructure, the Commune Youth Union has established a volunteer youth team to protect the environment and respond to climate change; built a youth shock team, a youth self-governance team, and a patrol team to support functional forces in ensuring security and order; and organized traffic safety awareness campaigns for young people. "We hope that the effectiveness of each activity will contribute to shaping the awareness and responsibility of young people towards the community and their homeland," Mr. Hieu said.
In Trung Hiep commune, local youth union members participated in repainting two rural bridges, replacing 100 LED lights on rural roads, maintaining flower and flag-lined roads, clearing bushes, and effectively maintaining the loan group supporting youth economic development. Local youth also coordinated medical examinations, provided medicine, and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families of policy beneficiaries; and awarded scholarships and gifts to support students in difficult circumstances.
Receiving gifts from young people, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Cuc, a beneficiary of government policies in Trung Hiep commune, was moved and said she was very touched by the concern shown by the younger generation.
According to Nguyen Phat Tai, Secretary of the Trung Hiep Commune Youth Union, in addition to regular activities, local youth implement many peak activities during Youth Month and Spring Volunteer Month... "Youth Union members are ready to participate in work that benefits the community. It is through these specific and practical actions that the spirit of volunteerism is spreading more and more strongly among local youth," Mr. Tai said.
With the same spirit, the youth of Hoa Hiep commune have planted 1,300 new bougainvillea plants to serve the construction of the Youth Union's flower-lined road; coordinated the planting of 500 bougainvillea plants along the road in Hoa An and Cai Cui hamlets; and cleared approximately 2km of rural road vegetation. Ms. Phan Nhat Khanh Linh, Secretary of the Hoa Hiep Commune Youth Union, believes that each project and task, whether large or small, contains the dedication and responsibility of the youth, hoping for the homeland to flourish even more.
"Each completed flower-lined road beautifies the landscape and contributes to raising environmental awareness among the people. That's what the local youth always strive for," Linh shared.
Promoting the spirit of volunteerism
According to the Provincial Youth Union, in the first six months of the year, youth union branches at all levels in the province actively participated in emulation movements and revolutionary action programs launched by the Central Youth Union and the locality. Volunteer activities for the community were innovated in a practical and effective direction, effectively promoting the "multi-linkage" approach in mobilizing resources and organizing activities.
Notably, in volunteering to build new rural areas, youth union branches at all levels organized a vibrant campaign, attracting a large number of union members and young people to participate. As a result, the entire province implemented more than 184 youth projects and tasks with a total budget of over 2.5 billion VND.
The mark of youth is evident in many areas. From the "Green Sunday" initiatives, which involved cleaning over 100km of roads, maintaining 28km of flowerbeds, and addressing 51 environmental pollution hotspots; collecting over 18 tons of waste; planting and caring for over 12,800 trees; illuminating 3.5km of rural roads; supporting the construction and repair of 4 rural bridges; and building 3 charitable houses.
Models such as "For a Green Vietnam," "Fighting Plastic Waste," "The Second Life of Tires and Plastic Bottles," "Green Space," "Ecological Brick," and "Green, Clean, and Dynamic Agency" have attracted more than 50,100 members of youth organizations, students, and young people to participate, contributing to raising environmental awareness in the community.
Along with rural areas, the youth of the province actively participate in building civilized urban areas with many specific projects and tasks such as cleaning up the environment on more than 52.8km of roads, collecting more than 16.3 tons of waste, removing and erasing nearly 620 illegal advertisements; effectively implementing the model of reducing plastic waste in local markets, creating model roads that are bright, green, clean, beautiful, civilized, and safe, and the model of flower-decorated utility poles, etc.
Comrade Tran Tri Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said that, promoting the spirit of solidarity, pioneering, volunteerism, and creativity, the youth of the province actively participate in revolutionary action movements, contributing to the fulfillment of the local political tasks.
“Whether it’s traditional tasks or new, urgent tasks, young people are always the pioneering force, ready to undertake difficult and new projects and tasks. This is also a way for young people to affirm their role and responsibility towards the development of their homeland,” Comrade Tran Tri Cuong emphasized.
Every cleaned road, every planted tree, and every completed project today bears the mark of youthful energy. It is through these simple, practical actions that the youth of our province contribute to building a homeland that is increasingly changing for the better, becoming more civilized and prosperous.
