In response to the 2026 Action Month for Children, activities to care for and support children have been widely implemented. From sharing gifts and free classes to forums for listening to children's voices, youth union branches at all levels in the province are contributing to creating an environment where children can learn, play, develop comprehensively, and grow up confidently.

These scholarships and gifts demonstrate care and concern for underprivileged children. |
In recent days, many underprivileged children have felt the care and attention from youth organizations and the community. In Nhon Phu commune, the Youth Union, in coordination with benefactors, recently visited and provided support to orphaned children in the area, helping to encourage them to overcome difficulties in life.
Each gift package included cash and essential supplies. In addition, the Youth Union coordinated a thematic event titled "Children Taking Firm Steps in the Digital Age," attracting over 400 children. Through this program, the children were equipped with knowledge about safe internet and social media use, enhancing their self-protection skills in the online environment. On this occasion, 25 gifts were also given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Ms. Pham Thi Anh Ngan, Secretary of the Nhon Phu Commune Youth Union, said: "We consider caring for children, especially those in difficult circumstances, as a regular task of the Youth Union organization. Besides providing material support, each activity also aims to care for their spiritual well-being, creating an environment where they can study, play, and develop comprehensively."
In Hoa Binh commune, through the connection between the Commune Youth Union and the Mutual Aid Fund Club, 50 students in the area participated in free summer classes.
Here, children learn conversational English, painting, calligraphy, music, public speaking skills, and many other useful life skills. These classes help them have a meaningful summer , contributing to nurturing their talents, developing their skills, and building their confidence. The "Lottery of Love" model continues to be maintained, creating a source of funding to support children in difficult circumstances.
According to Mr. Dinh Van Giau, Secretary of the Hoa Binh Commune Youth Union, taking good care of children requires the joint efforts of the entire society. Therefore, the locality always proactively connects charitable clubs, philanthropists, and the people to participate. Seeing the practical significance of these efforts, many people are willing to join and contribute to provide better conditions for the children.
Thanks to the collective efforts of the community, many practical support activities for disadvantaged children continue to spread in many localities throughout the province. This concern is demonstrated through scholarships and timely gifts of encouragement for students who overcome difficulties.
For example, the Tra On Commune Youth Union coordinated the donation of 50 gifts to orphaned children and those from poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged families in the commune, with a total cost of over 20 million VND. The Youth Committee of the Provincial Police awarded 20 scholarships and gifts to disadvantaged children in Tra Con commune. In Cai Ngang commune, the Commune Youth Union also raised over 29 million VND to support the treatment costs for a child suffering from a serious illness...
For Doan Minh Hieu, a student at Tan My Secondary School (Tra Con commune), the gift was a valuable source of material support and encouragement. Despite his difficult family circumstances, he always strives to excel in his studies. "Receiving this gift from the police officers makes me very happy and gives me more motivation to try harder in my studies and personal development," Hieu shared.
Besides support activities, all levels and sectors are paying increasing attention to ensuring children's right to participation. One of the outstanding activities is the program of meetings and dialogues between provincial leaders and children, jointly organized by the Provincial Youth Union.
This is an opportunity for children to express their thoughts, aspirations, and concerns, and to demonstrate the responsibility of all levels and sectors in implementing the 2016 Children's Law. More importantly, the program creates an opportunity for children's voices to be heard more fully, thereby helping all levels and sectors to have more information to develop solutions that are appropriate to the legitimate needs and desires of children.
Nguyen Thi Nhat Minh, a student from Le Qui Don Secondary School (Long Chau Ward), expressed: “We are very happy to participate in the meeting and dialogue program with provincial leaders. Through the program, we were able to express our thoughts and aspirations and received many meaningful insights and guidance. This helped us feel the care and affection that the leaders always have for children.”
Comrade Kim Ruong, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, requested that departments, agencies, and localities continue to identify the protection, care, and education of children as a regular and long-term task of the entire political system, families, schools, and society as a whole. At the same time, he urged increased coordination in addressing issues of concern to children, such as preventing and combating school violence, ensuring safety in the digital environment, preventing drowning and injuries; expanding playgrounds and creative spaces; and creating conditions for children to access science, technology, and digital transformation safely and effectively.
