In early May 2025, Everland Group launched two luxury cruise ships at Ao Tien International Port (Van Don District), transporting tourists to visit Bai Tu Long Bay starting this summer. These are the first two cruise ships in Everland Group's luxury cruise fleet development project, which includes day and overnight cruises to operate tours of Bai Tu Long Bay and connecting itineraries between Bai Tu Long Bay and Ha Long Bay, and Lan Ha Bay ( Hai Phong ).

The ship has a seating capacity of 99. Each ship is designed with three distinct decks, including a main passenger compartment, a VIP area, and an open-air space. The fire safety system, lifeboats, life rafts, and warning and rescue systems on board are all designed and equipped to the highest safety standards. The ship also features a 5-star restaurant offering a wide variety of Asian and European cuisine, prepared and served by professional hotel chefs.

Along with the launch of two new cruise ships in Bai Tu Long Bay, many companies have also invested in new, modern vessels to serve tourists traveling to the islands of Van Don and Co To districts. According to Mr. Le Van Tong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ka Long Transport Company, the number of tourists traveling to the islands will increase significantly this summer. To meet the transportation needs of tourists, the company has put into operation a high-quality, high-speed vessel with a capacity of 248 seats, capable of running continuously 3-4 trips during peak days. The newly commissioned vessel has modern facilities and a well-trained workforce, providing the best possible experience for tourists.

Currently, Ao Tien International Port (Van Don District) has about 70 ships operating routes to islands and visiting Bai Tu Long Bay. Particularly during the April 30th - May 1st holiday, approximately 550 ships transported 40,000 tourists to the islands of Co To, Quan Lan, and Minh Chau. Mr. Le Minh Manh, Port Manager of Ao Tien High-Class Port, said: On average, the port receives 6,000-8,000 visitors daily, and over 10,000 on weekends. Despite the high volume of visitors, the reception and service are always excellent. Our goal is to provide the utmost convenience and comfort to tourists. Therefore, along with investing in modern, beautiful, and convenient infrastructure, we prioritize the attitude of our port staff in areas such as welcoming, advising, introducing, selling tickets, organizing docking and passenger reception, and managing traffic flow. In particular, we actively work with transportation businesses, encouraging investment in new construction, or upgrading and repairing existing vessels in accordance with the law. This increases the carrying capacity of ships, meeting the growing travel demand of tourists during the summer.

During the peak summer tourist season, millions of visitors will flock to Quang Ninh's coastal and island areas. With the surge in visitors, many businesses are ready to invest in steel-hulled ships with modern interiors and high-class services. In Ha Long Bay, for example, even though summer has only just begun, many 99-seat ships are already in operation and continuously welcoming passengers. Mr. Tran Van Hong, Chairman of the Ha Long Tourist Ship Association, said: "With the guidance and support of the local authorities, businesses have unanimously and proactively invested in new, modern ships that comply with regulations, and even set higher standards to best serve the needs of tourists. On average, these ships can run two trips per day to transport passengers. The units also work and connect regularly with travel agencies to create a stable source of customers not only during the summer but throughout all four seasons of the year."

Along with launching many new ships, businesses are also actively investing in improving service quality. Currently, the occupancy rate for cruises during the summer always reaches 60-80%. Many cruises are fully booked on weekends. Cruise lines are focusing on adding staff, improving service quality, and refreshing experiences on the bay, combining culinary delights and artistic performances. According to travel agencies, sightseeing and overnight stays on the bay remain one of the most popular choices for tourists.
