(Baoquangngai.vn) - On the morning of January 19, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Provincial Bank for Social Policies (BSP) to assess the policy credit activities in 2023 and deploy directions and tasks for 2024.
According to the report of the Provincial Social Policy Bank, the total capital as of December 31, 2023 reached over VND 5,216 billion, an increase of more than VND 686.5 billion compared to 2022, a growth rate of 15.2%. Loan turnover in 2023 is nearly VND 1,430 billion, with more than 105.9 thousand poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households and other policy beneficiaries receiving loans to invest in economic development, create jobs, and increase income. In particular, loan turnover is concentrated in the following programs: Support for job creation, maintaining and expanding jobs; near-poor households; clean water and rural environmental sanitation; production and business households in difficult circumstances...

The total outstanding balance of credit programs as of December 31, 2023 reached over VND 5,211 billion, an increase of more than 15% compared to 2022, reaching 99.56% of the growth plan assigned for 2023. The outstanding balance of preferential credit programs under Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP of the Government reached over VND 500.5 billion, reaching 100% of the growth plan. The total overdue debt and frozen debt was over VND 10.8 billion, accounting for 0.21% of the total outstanding debt.
In 2023, the Provincial Social Policy Bank established inspection teams to conduct comprehensive inspections of 12 units, achieving 100% of the plan. At the inspection units, the branch's inspection team inspected 48 district-level unions, 154 commune-level unions, 176 savings and loan groups, and directly compared 1,685 borrowing households.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien suggested that in 2024, the Representative Board of the Bank for Social Policies at all levels should continue to advise local Party committees and authorities to effectively implement Directive No. 40-CT/TW and Conclusion No. 06-KL/TW of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit.
Focus resources on promoting the disbursement of policy credit programs according to the assigned plan targets in 2024. Thereby, promptly supporting and meeting the borrowing needs of poor households and other policy subjects. Especially disbursing loans to ethnic minority areas according to Decree No. 28/2022/ND-CP of the Government, loans to students in difficult circumstances, loans to people who have completed their prison sentences...
