(Baoquangngai.vn) - On the morning of January 19th, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien chaired a meeting of the Board of Representatives of the Social Policy Bank of Quang Ngai province to assess the situation of policy credit activities in 2023 and implement directions and tasks for 2024.
According to the report of the Provincial Social Policy Bank, the total capital as of December 31, 2023 reached over 5,216 billion VND, an increase of more than 686.5 billion VND compared to 2022, a growth rate of 15.2%. Loan disbursements in 2023 totaled nearly 1,430 billion VND, with over 105,900 poor households, near-poor households, newly-escaped-poverty households, and other policy beneficiaries receiving loans to invest in economic development, create jobs, and increase income. Loan disbursements were concentrated in the following programs: supporting job creation, maintenance, and expansion; near-poor households; rural clean water and sanitation; and households engaged in production and business in disadvantaged areas…

The total outstanding debt of credit programs as of December 31, 2023 reached over VND 5,211 billion, an increase of more than 15% compared to 2022, achieving 99.56% of the growth plan assigned for 2023. For loans under preferential credit programs according to Government Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP, the outstanding debt reached over VND 500.5 billion, achieving 100% of the growth plan. Total overdue and non-performing loans amounted to VND 10.8 billion, accounting for 0.21% of the total outstanding debt.
In 2023, the Provincial Social Policy Bank established inspection teams that conducted comprehensive inspections of 12 units, achieving 100% of the plan. At the inspected units, the branch's inspection teams conducted 48 inspections of district-level associations and organizations, 154 inspections of commune-level associations and organizations, 176 inspections of savings and loan groups, and directly verified 1,685 loan recipients.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien requested that in 2024, the representative boards of the Social Policy Bank at all levels should continue to advise local Party committees and authorities on the effective implementation of Directive No. 40-CT/TW and Conclusion No. 06-KL/TW of the Party Central Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit.
Focus resources on accelerating the disbursement of policy credit programs according to the assigned plan targets for 2024. This will ensure timely support and meet the borrowing needs of poor households and other policy beneficiaries. In particular, disburse loans to ethnic minority communities under Government Decree No. 28/2022/ND-CP, loans to disadvantaged students, and loans to those who have completed their prison sentences…
