- Upholding the tradition of solidarity and the spirit of "mutual support," the Party Committee, government, and people of Nhat Hoa commune have unanimously mobilized all resources and are determined to implement the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor, near-poor, and disaster-affected households.
Through a review, it was determined that during the period 2024-2026, Nhat Hoa commune has 98 temporary and dilapidated houses that need support for reconstruction or repair. Of these, 85 houses will be rebuilt or repaired in 2025, and 13 houses in 2026 (8 new houses and 5 repairs). Households building new houses will receive 60 million VND/house, while those repairing houses will receive 30 million VND/house from the state budget. Mr. Duong Huu Phong, Chairman of the People's Committee and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the Eradication of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Nhat Hoa commune, stated: Recognizing that eradicating temporary and dilapidated houses is not only a political task but also a responsibility, demonstrating deep concern for poor and near-poor households and vulnerable groups, the commune is determined to complete the program with quality assurance and on schedule. The commune has established a Steering Committee and working groups to implement the eradication of temporary and dilapidated houses.

In addition to directly disseminating information, mobilizing support, and explaining policies, members of the steering committee regularly "go door to door," listening to people's concerns to promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles. During the implementation process, beneficiary households also received support from various units and neighbors. From 2025 to the present, the commune militia, commune police, and local people have provided over 200 man-days of labor to households for house construction and furniture transportation. The commune People's Committee also directed specialized departments to assist in completing land procedures and issuing land ownership certificates ("red books") to households with newly built houses…
Thanks to the efforts and determination of the entire political system, the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Nhat Hoa commune has achieved positive results. By the end of July 2025, the commune had completed 85 out of 85 houses that needed to be built or repaired that year. Of the 13 houses to be supported in 2026, 8 out of 8 have been completed before the Lunar New Year; 5 houses are preparing for construction, with the site prepared, and are expected to be completed before April 30th of this year.
Ms. Chu Thi Nhot, from Tien Hau village, Nhat Hoa commune, happily shared: "In 2025, due to the impact of storms and floods, my family's house was severely damaged and deteriorated. In early January 2026, my family received 60 million VND in government assistance. Along with matching funds and the labor assistance from officials and villagers, my family built a new house of over 80 square meters in a higher, safer location. The new house was completed and put into use before the Lunar New Year of the Horse, so my family is very happy and feels secure in our new life."
With its effective approach, Nhat Hoa is one of the exemplary communes in the province in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. At the end of 2025, the commune was honored to receive a commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for its outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025".
