- Right from the early days of spring in the year of the Horse 2026, tourism in Lang Son has shown promising signs. The number of visitors to tourist attractions has increased sharply compared to the same period last year.
With a system of 55 tourist attractions, 308 accommodation establishments, a treasure trove of over 400 historical sites and scenic spots, and nearly 300 unique festivals, Lang Son possesses invaluable resources. In particular, its 10 national intangible cultural heritage sites and 2 UNESCO-recognized heritage sites serve as a strategic "lever" for tourism to achieve breakthroughs.
A bright start to spring
In late February 2026, the number of tourists flocking to spiritual tourism destinations in the province increased sharply. A prime example is the Dong Dang Mother Goddess Temple (Dong Dang commune). Mr. Nguyen Quy Thanh, a tourist from Hai Phong, said: "Although I had anticipated a large crowd at the beginning of spring, I was still surprised by the throngs of people. It took our group nearly half an hour to get from the highway to the temple. Even though the journey was slower than usual, with the efficient traffic control by the police and the dedicated guidance of the temple staff, everyone in the group forgot their fatigue and felt more excited for the new year."

At the Tam Thanh Pagoda (Tam Thanh Ward), a large number of tourists also visited. The image of long lines of vehicles blocking the entrance shows the strong appeal of tourism in Lang Son in 2026. Many groups of visitors accepted getting out of their vehicles and walking more than 400 meters to arrive in time to offer incense. It is reported that in the first two months of the year alone, the site welcomed over 30,000 visitors.
Not only the two aforementioned historical sites, but currently, many other tourist destinations and historical sites in communes and wards are attracting a large number of visitors through a variety of rich and diverse experiential activities. For example, the People's Committee of Dong Dang commune continues to organize a pedestrian street activity associated with the Dong Dang Mother Goddess Temple festival, featuring diverse cultural, sports, and tourism activities; the People's Committee of Ky Lua ward organizes a lion dance competition along with folk song performances, paragliding, and fireworks displays associated with the Bac Nga pagoda... The People's Committees of Bac Son and Huu Lien communes are promoting traditional festivals on social media, actively directing the renovation of accommodation facilities, and diversifying experiential activities for tourists staying during the festivals in their areas.
As a result, in the first two months of 2026, the total number of tourists visiting Lang Son reached over 800,000 (an increase of 6.3% compared to the same period in 2025). Of these, international tourists reached 39,000 (an increase of 25.8% compared to the same period in 2025).

Mr. Luu Ba Mac, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: In order to thoroughly prepare the conditions to welcome tourists, right from the beginning of the year, the department issued a document on ensuring the service of tourists during the spring season and disseminated it to the culture and social affairs departments of wards and communes, businesses, and tourism service establishments. The department also requested units and businesses operating in the tourism sector in the province to strictly comply with the regulations of the law on travel business, tourist transportation, tourist accommodation, management of tourist attractions and services for tourists; and to properly implement the code of civilized conduct…
We make thoughtful arrangements for guests.
In the province's early spring tourism landscape, Huu Lien commune's community tourism destination continues to attract a large number of visitors. In just the first two months of 2026, the commune received an estimated 20,000 tourists (an increase of nearly 10% compared to the same period last year), generating revenue of over 8 billion VND. The Tro Ngo festival, held in the commune on February 26th, alone attracted nearly 5,000 visitors.

Mr. Khong Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Huu Lien commune, said: "To prepare the best conditions to welcome tourists during the early spring, the commune government has proactively directed 38 homestay businesses in the area to urgently renovate their facilities and decorate their premises with a strong local cultural identity. In addition, we are paying special attention to guiding people to develop new tourism experiences, diversifying activities to explore nature and local culture to increase the attractiveness of the destination. Especially, ensuring the safety of tourists is always a top priority; the commune has required households to sign commitments to strictly comply with regulations on food safety and hygiene, publicly display prices, and closely monitor fire prevention and control plans, ensuring a safe, civilized, and friendly spring tourism season."
Along with tourist attractions, the atmosphere of preparing to welcome spring visitors is bustling at accommodation establishments throughout the province these days. Hotels and homestays are actively renovating and upgrading facilities, refreshing spaces, and diversifying their products and services.
Ms. Hoang Phuong Mai, Head of Sales and Reception at Muong Thanh Luxury Lang Son Hotel, stated: "From the beginning of 2026 until now, the number of room reservations has reached 70%, especially during the upcoming Ky Cung - Ta Phu festival (March 10-15), the number of reservations has reached 90% and is expected to continue increasing in the coming days. To ensure thorough preparation for welcoming guests, the hotel has implemented meticulous and professional preparations in all aspects. From cleaning and decorating the lobby and meeting rooms to carefully checking equipment, everything is done with care. The staff is strategically positioned, trained in service skills and foreign language communication, ready to provide attentive service. Simultaneously, logistical, security, and culinary plans have been meticulously planned, showcasing the hotel's professional and hospitable image." During this period, the hotel is also offering a 30% discount to guests who book online.
Thanks to the thorough preparation of tourism businesses and services, and the active involvement of relevant authorities, in the first two months of 2026, total tourism revenue in the province is estimated to reach 810 billion VND (an increase of 19.3% compared to the same period in 2025).
The impressive figures for visitor numbers and revenue in the first two months of 2026 are not only the "sweet fruits" of the tourism industry's efforts, but also proof of the attractiveness of Lang Son tourism at the beginning of spring. With strong momentum right from the start of the year, Lang Son tourism promises to have a prosperous 2026, affirming its position as an attractive, safe, civilized, and friendly destination in the hearts of domestic and international tourists.
