During the assembly at Battalion 563, the atmosphere for studying law was lively. The soldiers enthusiastically participated in the "Quick Questions - Correct Answers" quiz on the Law on Military Service, the Vietnamese Law on the Sea, and regulations on troop management. The lively and engaging organization made learning law in the unit more accessible and memorable.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Huu Truong, Political Officer of Battalion 563, stated that the unit always considers the dissemination and education of law as a crucial aspect of building a disciplined and well-organized force. Therefore, the battalion focuses on maintaining and effectively implementing the "Monthly Law Day," viewing it as a forum for officers and soldiers to exchange and share situations, analyze them, and draw practical lessons. "We believe that legal education is not just about conveying regulations, but also about helping soldiers understand and apply them correctly in each specific task. When officers and soldiers exchange and handle real-life situations, they will be more proactive in their learning, thereby enhancing their awareness of law compliance and discipline," Lieutenant Colonel Pham Huu Truong emphasized. In addition, models such as "One Law Question a Day," "One Law a Week," "Military Personnel Psychological and Legal Counseling Team," and "Legal Library" are effectively maintained. Through bulletin boards, internal loudspeakers, and unit activities, legal content is conveyed vividly and relatable. The model of "Using violations as the theme of ideological activities" helps soldiers clearly distinguish right from wrong, thereby fostering self-discipline.

Beyond internal training, Battalion 563 also collaborates with relevant agencies within the Navy to organize legal education and awareness programs for its officers and soldiers. During these sessions, professional staff analyzes typical cases from daily life, clearly outlining the causes, consequences, and penalties, helping soldiers gain a deeper understanding of discipline and the law. Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Chief Judge of the Military Court of the Navy Region, stated: “Real-life cases always have a significant deterrent and educational impact. Through analyzing the causes, consequences, and related legal responsibilities, officers and soldiers gain a clearer understanding of what they are allowed to do, what they are not allowed to do, and the consequences of violations. This is an important foundation for each soldier to enhance their awareness of law compliance and maintain strict military discipline.”
A highlight of Battalion 563 is its innovative approach to integrating legal education with traditional education and the task of protecting maritime sovereignty and islands. The unit regularly organizes sessions to disseminate and introduce the Vietnamese Law of the Sea, the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and related legal documents, especially to new recruits. Through thematic talks, documentary films, question-and-answer sessions, and other engaging activities, officers and soldiers gain a better understanding of their responsibilities as military personnel; simultaneously fostering pride in the traditions of the Vietnam People's Navy, thereby enhancing their awareness of law enforcement, discipline, and determination to firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland. Private Tran Thuan Thien, Squad 6, Platoon 5, Company 26, Battalion 563, shared: “Through the legal training sessions at the unit, I understand my responsibilities in daily work and life better. Therefore, I always remind myself to strictly abide by regulations, maintain discipline, and strive to complete all assigned tasks well.”
To ensure that soldiers deeply understand, remember, and effectively implement regulations, the Battalion organized various forms of propaganda such as law knowledge contests, youth forums, and theatrical performances. Soldiers learned and acted simultaneously, turning law education into a regular, engaging, and effective activity. As a result, for many years, the Battalion has had no serious disciplinary violations. Lieutenant Colonel Do Ngoc Sang, Battalion Commander of Battalion 563, emphasized: “Discipline is only truly sustainable when it becomes a self-driven need for each soldier. When officers and soldiers have the right understanding and act correctly, the strength of the unit will be multiplied.”
The lively legal lessons, along with the analysis and discussion of real-life situations, helped to deeply instill legal knowledge into the awareness of the officers and soldiers of Battalion 563. As a result, their awareness of law compliance and discipline was enhanced, contributing to maintaining a healthy, united, and disciplined military culture within the unit.
