In her opening remarks, literary critic Thy Lan, Vice President of the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, emphasized: "The poetry night is a rare opportunity for delegates and poetry lovers to hear the author himself read his poems and watch clips of poetry recitations and documentaries about poet Nguyen Duy's poetry in a spacious, beautiful, and warm setting. We will experience the author's personal emotions and feelings, which will touch the hearts of everyone."

Growing up during the resistance war against the US, poet Nguyen Duy served as a squad leader in the militia unit on duty at Ham Rong Bridge, a key target of fierce bombing by the US Air Force. In 1966, he enlisted in the army, serving in the Information Command. He fought for many years on the battlefields of Route 9 - Khe Sanh, Route 9 - Southern Laos, Ta Con, and later on the northern border (in 1979).
After April 30, 1975, he worked at the Liberation Literature and Arts newspaper and the Literature and Arts newspaper until his retirement. Nguyen Duy published 18 volumes of poetry and 3 volumes of prose. In 2007, he was awarded the "State Prize" for Literature and Arts.
The Nguyen Duy poetry night received considerable attention from poetry lovers.

"Nguyen Duy's Poetry Night" consists of 10 performances, including several poems recited by the poet Nguyen Duy himself, such as: "The Warmth of the Straw Nest," "Len Ferry," "Bo Bridge," "Sitting Sadly Remembering My Mother of Yesteryear," "Searching for Relatives," etc. These are poems that have "stood the test of time," deeply connected to many Vietnamese people in general, and Thanh Hoa in particular. Pouring his heart out while reciting poetry and sharing the circumstances surrounding the creation of each poem, poet Nguyen Duy affirmed that he is receiving renewed energy from his homeland and the audience.
