On March 18, the Vietnamese community working abroad spread a clip recording the scene of a 3-year-old boy sitting dazed on the steps of his house early in the morning.
The reason why the boy sat with his knees tied up in an empty, quiet house made many people sob.
Ms. HT, the owner of the clip, said the baby in the clip is her son. Ms. T. just went to Taiwan (China) to work for more than a year, leaving her son back home to ask his parents for help.
At the end of last year, Ms. T. planned to return to visit her children, but her job in Taiwan had problems. She had just moved to a new company for a few days, so she could not currently arrange time to visit her children.
While reviewing the camera installed in her hometown, Ms. T. burst into tears when she saw her son sitting alone in front of the steps, head down, face in his hands. The boy missed his mother so much. He sat there quietly while other family members were still sleeping.
“He is still young but wakes up very early, is quiet and often wanders alone. Seeing my child sitting there alone, I felt both sadness and pity. Every choice has trade-offs. Now I just hope to make money, return home soon with my child and hope that my son is always healthy at home," Ms. T. confided.
The clip posted on social networks has attracted 1,2 million views and thousands of interactions.
The mother's decision to leave her child with her parents to work abroad and earn money also sparked a debate.
SN account commented: "Go to work to earn money to take care of your child, but what you need is a childhood near your mother. When the economy is ready, we will have children. Don't let me have to endure being away from my mother at such a young age."
In the opposite direction, many people share and sympathize with the mother's feelings. “Perhaps because of difficult circumstances, the mother had to endure being away from her child. The mother also just wants to have money to take care of her child and have a more prosperous future. Hopefully the baby will be able to live near his mother as soon as possible," the GHK account expressed.
