On the evening of March 31, in Ho Chi Minh City, an early screening of the movie "Tunnels: Sun in the Dark" by director Bui Thac Chuyen took place.

This is a film project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

Sharing about the film that was conceived and made after 11 years, director Bui Thac Chuyen said that the film "Tunnels: Sun in the Dark" was made with all the love for Cu Chi land, the country and people of Vietnam.

He also hopes that people will understand Cu Chi land the way he did and wanted to understand it.

In the film, actor Thai Hoa plays Bay Theo, the commander of 21 guerrillas consisting entirely of young men.

The character Bay Theo makes viewers feel the image of a resilient farmer holding a gun to fight, always worrying about the members of the guerrilla team.

Sharing about his role, actor Thai Hoa said that participating in the film helped him understand more about war through the context of the training days, especially when entering the film set surrounded by fire and smoke... When he heard the news of his comrades' sacrifice, even though he knew everything, he could only choose to remain silent and express his pain through his eyes.

For Thai Hoa, there are scenes that seem very psychological but give him a very "floating" feeling when acting and it is not too difficult to grasp the character's psychology even though he has to act over and over again.

Meritorious Artist Cao Minh (playing Uncle Sau) said he burst into tears during filming even though his character did not have any crying scenes.

“I thought of my uncles and aunts and shed tears. I was deeply moved because the youth of that time lived and fought very fiercely.” The male artist hopes that the audience, especially the young, will go see this film to learn about and be proud of the heroic and courageous time of their ancestors.

The film "Tunnels: Sun in the Dark" is set in the battlefield of Binh An Dong commune, Cu Chi district in 1967. At that time, the battlefield was bombed and the enemy swept continuously, but the guerrillas who were the children of Cu Chi still stayed here to carry out their mission.

The film brings together a cast of actors such as Thai Hoa, Quang Tuan, Ho Thu Anh, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh, Hang Lamoon, Hoang Minh Triet, Nhat Y, Khanh Ly, Anh Tu Wilson...

The movie "Tunnel: Sun in the Dark" will have early screenings at 7pm on April 2-3. The movie will officially be released on April 4./.
