Representatives of the Women's Association of the Trang Bom Ward Police presented gifts and financial support to Tran Nguyen Mai Thao, who has been adopted as a child of the commune's police force.

From monthly support payments and heartwarming holiday gifts to regular encouragement and care, the activities of the "Adopted Children of the Commune Police" model are spreading profound humanitarian values, contributing to social welfare and instilling hope in many unfortunate lives.

Supporting orphaned children

From birth, Tran Nguyen Mai Thao (14 years old, from Trang Bom ward) was deprived of her father's love because he abandoned her and disappeared. Her mother single-handedly raised her along with her maternal grandparents. Life was already difficult, but misfortune piled up when Thao was in 5th grade, her mother died in an accident, leaving Thao to live with her maternal grandparents in their dilapidated house. Her maternal grandmother was also diagnosed with cancer.

Thảo's deprived childhood made her withdrawn. Understanding her circumstances, the officers and soldiers of the Trảng Bom Ward Police Station adopted her under the "Police Officer's Adopted Child" model. Every month, the Women's Association and the Youth Union of the Ward Police Station provide her with 1 million VND along with many essential supplies for her studies and daily life. Beyond material support, on holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), and other special occasions, the police officers also take Thảo out for fun, shopping, and meals, treating her like a member of their family. Thanks to this, Thảo has become happier, more sociable, and more optimistic.

Similarly, in early April 2026, joy came to Lam Duy Thien (14 years old, from Loc Hung commune) when the Loc Hung commune police visited and presented gifts on the occasion of the Khmer New Year, Chol Chnam Thmay. Thien is an orphan whose father died in an accident and is in very difficult circumstances.

During the meeting, the police officers of Loc Hung commune kindly inquired about Thien's studies and daily life, encouraging him to continue striving to overcome difficulties, be well-behaved, and cultivate good morals to become a useful member of society. Each month, the commune police provide Thien with 1 million VND and many other necessities. These gifts and the regular care and encouragement from the police officers of Loc Hung commune help alleviate some of his difficulties and give him more motivation to confidently move forward.

In An Vien commune, the "Adopted Child of the Commune Police" model is proving effective. Since December 2025, the commune police have been adopting Do Ngoc Gia Han (10 years old, from An Vien commune). Gia Han and her younger sister lived with their mother, but in September 2025, their mother passed away due to a serious illness, leaving the two sisters orphaned. Gia Han lives with her uncle in a cramped rented room in An Vien commune, while her younger sister lives with their uncle in Dinh Quan commune. Knowing their situation, the An Vien commune police have taken Gia Han under their "Adopted Child of the Commune Police" model. In addition to providing material support, An Vien commune police officers regularly visit and encourage her, giving her the strength to continue attending school.

Caring for social welfare through simple acts.

Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Thi Hong Hue , Head of the Women's Association of the Trang Bom Ward Police, said: "The 'Adopted Children of the Commune Police' model is not just a simple social welfare activity, but also carries profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the responsibility of the people's police force towards the community, especially children in difficult circumstances."

According to Lieutenant Colonel Hue, sponsoring and providing long-term care for these children not only helps stabilize their material lives but also creates a strong spiritual foundation, instilling confidence in them to overcome adversity and strive for academic and personal development. At the same time, through this program, the image of the police officer is not only associated with the task of ensuring security and order but also spreads values of compassion, contributing to social welfare.

According to information from the Loc Hung Commune Police, the "Adopted Children of the Commune Police" model helps disadvantaged children find support to thrive in life. In the future, with the cooperation of families, schools, and local authorities, the unit aims to accompany the adopted children throughout their journey to adulthood, building a solid foundation for them to move towards a better future. This activity also continues to spread the image of courageous, humane, and compassionate police officers, contributing to building the National Movement for Protecting National Security at the grassroots level.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Head of the Women's Association of An Vien Commune Police, said: The "Adopted Children of the Commune Police" model aims to promote the social responsibility of the commune police force in caring for, protecting, educating , and supporting disadvantaged children to improve their lives, helping them attend school, enjoy healthy recreation, and reduce the risk of dropping out of school or violating the law.

"In the coming time, the An Vien Commune Police will continue to maintain and expand the 'Police Officer's Adopted Child' model, mobilizing more resources to better care for children with particularly difficult circumstances in the area."

Lieutenant Colonel NGUYEN THI THU HUONG, Head of the Women's Association of An Vien Commune Police

Along with the task of ensuring security and order today, the "Adopted Children of Commune Police Officers" model has been creating positive values through simple actions. Beyond providing material support, this model also becomes a source of emotional support for children lacking parental love, giving them motivation and confidence to strive in life. The image of police officers silently sowing seeds of love in everyday life contributes to the increasingly widespread and humane spread of social welfare work in the community.
