Portuguese journalist Bruno Andrade revealed that Ronaldo made very specific demands before agreeing to return to playing. Accordingly, the former Real Madrid star wanted the Al Nassr management to guarantee his autonomy in transfer windows, avoiding interference from outside factors.
Ronaldo believes that only with a clear transfer strategy can a team be competitive both domestically and on the continent. Previously, CR7 expressed dissatisfaction with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) for allegedly favoring Al Hilal over Al Nassr in transfer dealings. A series of "big-name" signings have arrived at Al Hilal, while Al Nassr has consistently struggled to recruit big names.
After outlining his conditions for return, Ronaldo quickly posted a picture of himself training intensely on the pitch along with a yellow and blue heart emoji – the two signature colors of Al Nassr. Notably, this post appeared on the day the former Real Madrid star turned 41.

Ronaldo's return has somewhat dispelled rumors that he would return to Portugal in recent days, after a period of refusing to play. However, CR7's participation in the upcoming match against Al Ittihad remains uncertain.
According to Sky Sports , senior Saudi Arabian football officials were surprised by Ronaldo's strong reaction, especially given his reported daily income of £500,000. Saudi Arabian football leaders are reportedly urging Ronaldo to end his "strike" and return to playing soon.
In the 2025/26 season, Ronaldo maintained his impressive goal-scoring record. However, to date, the only title he has won with Al Nassr is the 2023 Arab Champions League. Although the yellow-shirted team is closely trailing Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League standings (only 1 point behind after 19 rounds), Ronaldo's dissatisfaction is showing signs of increasing.
