The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a plan to organize the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 with the theme "Da Nang - United Horizons".
The festival will take place from May 30th to July 11th, 2026, promising a series of unique cultural and tourism events this summer in the city by the Han River.
With six nights of competition spanning over a month, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 is expected to continue being a unique tourism product of Da Nang.
According to the plan, the fireworks display will continue to be held in the Han River Port area, while the main viewing platform and stage will be located on the sidewalk of Tran Hung Dao Street, opposite the fireworks display area, similar to previous DIFF events.
In addition, supporting activities for the festival will be organized throughout the city, stretching along both banks of the Han River, in central streets, tourist areas, and festival spaces.
DIFF 2026 consists of 6 competition nights, structured around a central theme that chronicles Da Nang's development in the new era, showcasing the city's position, vision, and aspirations for international integration.
Specifically, the opening night (May 30th) was themed "Nature," featuring a competition between the Vietnamese team (Da Nang) and the Chinese team. The second night (June 6th), themed "Heritage," saw a contest between the French team and the Vietnamese team (Z21 Vina Pyrotech). The third night (June 13th), themed "Culture," brought together the Japanese and Italian teams.
Next, the fourth night (June 20th), themed "Creativity," featured performances by teams from Germany and Macau (China); the fifth night (June 27th), themed "Vision," included teams from Australia and Portugal.
The final night, held on July 11th, also served as the overarching theme of the Da Nang festival - Connecting Horizons.
Each team participating in DIFF 2026 will have 20-22 minutes to perform a fireworks display based on the theme of each night's competition.
Regarding the prize structure, the first prize is worth $20,000 along with a trophy and certificate; the second prize is $10,000.
Additionally, there are awards for: Most Popular Team, Innovation Award, and Promising Team Award, each worth $5,000 and a certificate.
DIFF 2026 will take place from May 30th to July 11th in the Han River area, contributing to promoting the image of Da Nang as a dynamic and attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.
The People's Committee of Da Nang City has assigned relevant departments and units to coordinate closely to implement the festival effectively and safely. Specifically, Sun Group Joint Stock Company and Apollo Trade & Communication Company Limited (APL) are in charge of importing, storing, and safely installing fireworks; and constructing the grandstands, stage, sound, and lighting systems.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is responsible for advising, compiling the program, developing supporting activities, appraising artistic content, and managing performance activities; the Da Nang City Police Department ensures security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and control, and organizes traffic flow management for the festival…
