Opening the third night of DIFF 2026 was a performance by the Tamaya Kitahara Fireworks team from Japan, representing the world- renowned traditional Hanabi art. Beginning with a series of powerful fireworks, imbued with the spirit of Wabi-sabi, the Japanese team took the audience on an emotionally rich journey, where beauty was perceived through subtlety and harmony.

The Nishiki Kamuro fireworks displays are likened to soft golden silk ribbons descending from the sky, creating delicate layers of light that are distinctly characteristic of the Land of the Rising Sun.

The highlight of this performance was the interplay of light and music. Alongside melodies deeply rooted in Japanese culture such as "New Genesis" and "Always With Me," the Japanese team surprised the audience with a series of outstanding soundtracks and songs, including the theme song from the movie "Stranger Things," "Running Up That Hill," the Oscar-winning K-pop song "GOLDEN," and the Vietnamese song "Những ngày trời bao la" (The Vast Sky Days).

Accordingly, the Japanese team's fireworks display became a true "cultural music stage," a genuine "light concert." Each segment created a connection with the audience, especially young people, in keeping with the spirit of cultural exchange throughout the competition night.

Meanwhile, Martarello Group SLR Italy, a "living legend" of DIFF with two consecutive championships, presented their performance "Echoes Becoming Future," further showcasing the cinematic storytelling that has become Martarello's trademark.

With classic European melodies like "Lacrimosa" and Vivaldi, the Italian team took the audience on a cultural journey, exploring everything from European heritage to contemporary songs, and cleverly incorporated trending Vietnamese hits like "See Tình".

The multi-layered fireworks effects, the cinematic bursts of firework displays, and the perfect synchronization between music and light transformed the Han River sky into an artistic stage, with each segment depicting the journey of human culture, where traditional values are constantly renewed to move towards the future.

Representatives from the Sun Group acknowledged that the third night of the competition truly embodied the meaning of a cultural "showdown," and this theme was made even more special by the audience's enthusiasm. Despite the torrential afternoon rain before the opening ceremony, 100% of the audience remained present, patiently watching every development of the fireworks and weather conditions.

This further reinforces the appeal of a leading fireworks festival in the region, and the attitude of the local community and tourists in Da Nang, in a space for international cultural exchange, with each story told through music, art, and light, along with a wonderful spirit of enjoyment in Central Vietnam.
