Following the completion of the main tunnel section (enclosed tunnel H3B) at the Ring Road 2.5 underpass project, the construction barriers that occupied the entire inner-city lane of Giai Phong Street near Ngoc Hoi were removed last weekend.

The Ngọc Hồi - inner city section of road, which previously handled all traffic in both directions on Giải Phóng road, has now been relieved of some of the burden.

Specifically, according to the new traffic adjustment plan, from the morning of January 6th, instead of turning left onto Kim Dong Street to avoid the barrier, all vehicles traveling on Giai Phong Street in the inner city - Ngoc Hoi direction will go straight on the newly repaved section (red arrow). At the widened intersection on Kim Dong Street, only vehicles turning left from Giai Phong Street and vehicles heading towards Ngoc Hoi will continue through the intersection (green arrow).

This infrastructure helps to ensure smooth traffic flow on that section of the road, reducing congestion.

On the morning of January 6th, the intersection leading to Kim Dong no longer experienced prolonged traffic congestion during rush hour.

However, traffic on the Giai Phong road heading towards the city center through the intersection remains congested due to the extremely high volume of vehicles.

A representative from the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor) stated that the barriers at this location have been removed and the ground restored to allow traffic flow. Regarding the remaining tunnel sections, the investor representative said that the Board is working with relevant agencies, including the Hanoi Department of Transport and the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, to develop a plan for constructing the tunnel sections on Kim Dong Street.
