Removing construction fence at Giai Phong intersection

After completing the construction of the main tunnel segment (closed tunnel number H3B) at the Ring Road 2.5 underpass project, last weekend the construction fence occupying the entire Giai Phong street in the direction of Ngoc Hoi inner city was removed.

With Ngoc Hoi - inner city route previously "carrying" all the vehicles in both directions of Giai Phong street, the load has now been reduced.

Specifically, according to the new traffic adjustment and regulation plan, from the morning of January 6, instead of turning left to Kim Dong Street to avoid the fence, all vehicles traveling on Giai Phong Street from the inner city to Ngoc Hoi can go straight on the newly paved road (red arrow). At the expanded intersection on Kim Dong Street, only vehicles from Giai Phong Street turning left and vehicles going towards Ngoc Hoi can pass through the traffic intersection (green arrow).

This infrastructure situation helps traffic on the above road section to flow quickly, reducing congestion.

On the morning of January 6, the intersection towards Kim Dong no longer had prolonged traffic jams during rush hour.

However, Giai Phong Street towards the inner city through the intersection is still congested due to heavy traffic.

The representative of the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor) said that the fence here has been removed and the ground has been restored to organize traffic and serve vehicles. Regarding the remaining tunnel segments, the investor representative said that the Board is working with relevant agencies, including the Department of Transport and the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, to have a plan to construct the tunnel segments on Kim Dong Street.
