The company suddenly found itself burdened with over 7 billion VND in tax debt.

On October 25th, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province announced that it had assigned the Lam Dong Tax Department to review the request of Lam Phan Co., Ltd. (Ward 3, Da Lat City) regarding the fulfillment of land lease payment obligations, to resolve the matter in accordance with the law, and to report to the Provincial People's Committee before November 5th.

According to a document sent to the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Tax Department, Lam Phan Co., Ltd. (signed by Director Le Ich Phan) was granted permission by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to implement an eco-tourism resort project on Dang Thai Than Street (Ward 3, Da Lat City) under Decision No. 915/QD-UBND dated April 26, 2005, and the decision to switch to a one-time land lease payment No. 2749/QD-UBND (dated December 14, 2016) of the Provincial People's Committee.

Lam Phan Co., Ltd. has requested the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and the Tax Department to reconsider the tax debt issue.

According to Lam Phan Co., Ltd., the company has completed the one-time payment of land lease fees. On February 27, 2017, the Da Lat City Tax Department issued notice No. 888/TB-CCT informing the company that it had fulfilled its financial obligations regarding the one-time payment of land lease fees for the entire lease period. The company has proceeded with investment and completed the necessary land procedures.

"However, to date, the Da Lat Tax Department has unilaterally notified the company that it still owes over 7 billion VND in land lease fees paid in a lump sum. On October 5, 2023, the company received notice No. 5160/CTLDO-QLN from the Provincial Tax Department regarding the payment of outstanding tax (land lease fees) of over 7 billion VND and late payment penalties of over 666 million VND," the document from Lam Phan Co., Ltd. stated.

Therefore, Lam Phan Co., Ltd. has sent a letter to the People's Committee of Lam Dong province and the Lam Dong Tax Department requesting a review of the aforementioned tax payment notice so that the company can confidently invest in business, production, and construction of the project on schedule.
