Businesses 'ask for answers', Quang Tri leaders answer directly to clear up problems

On the morning of September 13, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province held a dialogue with nearly 300 enterprises, representing nearly 3,400 enterprises in the province. The dialogue was attended by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung, two vice chairmen Ha Si Dong and Hoang Nam, and directors of many departments and branches in the province.

At the beginning of the dialogue, Vice Chairman Ha Si Dong asked businesses to speak frankly, focusing on difficult issues that need to be resolved, and at the same time, to offer ideas and creative solutions to help the province overcome difficulties.

He also requested that departments and branches provide specific answers, get to the point so that businesses have confidence, recommendations are resolved, creating new motivation for businesses to confidently expand investment, contributing to the development of the province.

Mr. Dong said that Quang Tri province always cares, meets, increases understanding, sympathizes, and shares solutions to support businesses.

Quang Tri province has more than 3,400 enterprises with a total registered capital of 70,000 billion VND, the total product (GRDP) of enterprises in the province in 2024 is estimated at 28,000 billion VND, contributing about 65.7% of the province's GRDP.

Opening the dialogue, Mr. Le Dinh Sung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Minh Hung Joint Stock Company - raised the issue that businesses have been facing many difficulties, having to temporarily suspend operations, workers losing their jobs...

So what specific solutions and sharing does the Provincial People's Committee have to help entrepreneurs and businesses overcome difficulties and challenges?

Mr. Truong Chi Trung - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment - answered briefly, stating breakthroughs to boost the economy, including promoting key projects, digital transformation, improving human resource quality, improving PCI indexes...

Immediately after that, businesses had straightforward questions about the unfinished infrastructure in industrial parks, the scarcity of construction material mines, the time-consuming value-added tax refund procedures, the degradation of National Highway 15D affecting the transportation of goods, the risk of accidents, the time to carry out investment procedures lasting from 6 months to a year in the field of public investment or non-budgetary investment...

After each issue raised by the business, the provincial leaders asked the departments to answer correctly and to the point. Each answer should not exceed 5 minutes.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung said that the opinions were frank, responsible and highly practical, and had been basically directly answered by the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and localities.

After this dialogue, he requested that departments, branches and localities must be proactive, pioneering, flexible and creative in solving work, periodically organize meetings and dialogues with businesses, improve the quality of business support services, attract investment associated with reforming the business environment, be fair, equal and objective towards businesses, without discrimination or favoritism...

Mr. Hung also suggested that the provincial business association regularly grasp the proposals and recommendations of enterprises, truly being a bridge between enterprises and provincial authorities.
