Enterprises in the green development trend

Green production is a sustainable development trend pursued by many businesses, especially in the context of increasingly serious climate change and environmental pollution as it is today.

Green production is a production process in which the input materials and output products are environmentally friendly and do not cause harm to human health. This is also an inevitable trend and an important link in the direction of a green and sustainable economy.

"In the current period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of our country, developing green and sustainable production has made an important contribution, affirming the steady steps of the economy. Therefore, the business community needs to constantly learn to improve management skills, apply advanced science and technology to production and business activities; actively participate in the technology transfer process, promote green and sustainable production."

Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee

Participating in the greening process in production, recently, many enterprises have paid more attention to using natural raw materials, fuels, and non-toxic chemicals; investing in machinery, technology, and modern production equipment according to international standards.

At the same time, invest in renewable energy systems to proactively use clean energy in addition to solutions to save electricity and water in the production process... as well as install a quality management system for food safety and hygiene and a waste treatment system, aiming at green and clean production criteria.

In the agricultural sector, in recent years, green farms have been established in the province, with scientific production plans, adhering to strict production processes; developing production associated with creating a sustainable ecological environment and biodiversity. A typical example is Thanh Dong Green Food Joint Stock Company (Buon Ma Thuot City). From the goal and orientation of bringing clean agriculture to consumers, the company has developed a model of growing mushrooms under a solar roof in a circular direction with a scale of 6,000 m2.

Mr. Doan Xuan Truong, General Director of Thanh Dong Green Food Joint Stock Company, shared that this model is not only transferred technology from the Institute of Research and Development of edible mushrooms and medicinal mushrooms, but is also mechanized and uses automatic systems managed by software installed on the phone.

The company has invested in a circular factory system with a one-way, unified production process from input materials to output products, which are separated, ensuring a clean environment for mushrooms to grow and not be infected. Raw materials for making mushrooms are taken from rubber tree sawdust. The raw material processing area, production area, mushroom breeding room, mushroom spawn production area, etc. are all invested with modern equipment. In particular, the company also has an area to process waste after mushroom cultivation into fertilizer for organic fruit orchards.

Thanks to the thorough investment in factories, technology and techniques, the mushroom growing model under the solar roof of Thanh Dong Green Food Joint Stock Company has achieved ISO 22,000 and VietGAP certification. In particular, the model has brought double benefits because it has both revenue from rooftop solar power and electricity for agricultural production, creating quality products.

Not only in the agricultural sector, green production has now spread to the industrial, service, and commercial sectors, bringing many practical benefits. Aiming for the goal of Net Zero (net zero emissions), many enterprises have proactively invested in production lines to shift towards green and sustainable direction.

With a production line invested in hundreds of billions of VND, all beer production activities of Saigon - Central Beer Joint Stock Company are using cleaner processes. This saves maximum raw materials, fuels, and input materials. The company also uses technology to generate heat entirely from liquefied natural gas, helping to reduce emissions into the environment.

Mr. Huynh Van Dung, General Director of Saigon - Central Beer Joint Stock Company, said that the green transformation has been carried out by the unit for more than 10 years, starting with cleaner production, saving raw materials, fuel, and input materials; followed by recycling waste, increasing green, digital, and circular solutions.

The company has made greater use of raw materials, reduced costs, and minimized waste and harmful emissions into the environment according to new government regulations and market requirements; aiming for sustainable production, circular economy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and implementing community responsibility according to ESG standards (a tool to assess and measure the level of social, environmental and governance responsibilities of enterprises).

According to the Provincial Business Association, reducing emissions, switching to energy-saving solutions, using environmentally friendly materials or implementing a circular economy model are solutions that many businesses in Dak Lak are currently applying for green production. This is also the criterion for businesses to meet increasingly stringent market requirements and participate in the global supply chain.

To promote green and sustainable production, Mr. Phan Ngoc Xin, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Electricity Company, shared that in the coming time, the unit will coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to implement solutions to create conditions for local businesses to access green transformation. Thereby improving production efficiency, creating green and clean products to serve export as well as the domestic market.

In fact, green production models in Dak Lak not only help businesses save electricity costs and reduce product prices, but also open up opportunities for businesses to enter demanding markets, especially in the context of the world moving towards sustainable green growth.
