The Co Ba Cho Duoc Festival takes place on the 10th and 11th days of the first lunar month every year at the Ba Cho Duoc Mausoleum, Phuoc Am village, Binh Trieu commune, Thang Binh district, former Quang Nam province, now Phuoc Am village, Thang An commune, Da Nang city.

This activity marks the spiritual and religious life of the people of Binh Trieu commune, as well as the eastern communes of Thang Binh district in particular, and the people of Quang Nam (formerly) in general. It reflects the fertility beliefs of the agricultural inhabitants of the coastal region of Quang Nam, associated with the worship of the Mother Goddess of the Vietnamese people, and at the same time expresses reverence for ancestors and the simple wishes for a peaceful and prosperous life of the people.

The opening ceremony took place on the evening of February 26th at Cho Duoc riverside, Thang An commune, with an art program themed "The Beauty of Thang An - Ba Cho Duoc Festival" to honor the historical, religious, and cultural values ​​of Cho Duoc village; recreating the traditional festival atmosphere through various art forms.

The main event, eagerly anticipated by locals and tourists alike, taking place on the afternoon of February 27th, is the ceremony of welcoming the Goddess and the procession of the palanquin.

This ritual is deeply rooted in religious beliefs, commemorating the merits of the Lady – who is traditionally credited with pioneering commerce and contributing to the flourishing of the community. On the morning of February 27th, a ceremonial offering of incense took place at the Lady's mausoleum; and a men's boat race was held at the Cho Duoc riverbank.

The Ba Cho Duoc Festival is a folk cultural and religious activity preserved through many generations, closely linked to the formation and development of the communities along the Truong Giang River. The festival embodies the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," contributing to strengthening community bonds and promoting heritage values ​​in contemporary life.

The 2026 festival will also include activities such as a rural market, traditional folk singing, folk games, and sports activities such as volleyball competitions and men's boat races, etc.

The art program "Legend of Cho Duoc Market" offers a profound space for local art performances, contributing to the promotion of heritage and raising community awareness about preserving the national intangible cultural heritage of the Cho Duoc Goddess Procession Festival.

Men's boat racing has always been an activity that attracts people from other localities to participate and cheer at each festival.

With its rich traditional cultural values ​​deeply rooted in Vietnamese identity and serving as a strong spiritual foundation in the people's consciousness, the Bà Chợ Được Procession Festival was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2014.

Today, the Co Ba Cho Duoc Festival has become a unique cultural event, a synthesis of the cultural and artistic values ​​of the former Thang Binh region. In particular, the procession of the floats is always considered the highlight and "soul" of the festival.

In 2014, the Ba Cho Duoc Procession Festival was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Through folk performances rich in spiritual, cultural, artistic, sculptural, theatrical, customary, and ceremonial values, the procession of floats has fostered community cohesion, connecting the past, present, and future, enriching village cultural life, and preserving the precious spiritual cultural heritage of the local people.
