Innovation begins with the teacher.

GD&TĐ - Forty-three years have passed since the Council of Ministers decided to designate November 20th as Vietnamese Teachers' Day, and this occasion has become a traditional celebration for the education sector and the entire society.

This is an occasion for the whole country to express its affection, respect, and profound gratitude to teachers – those who have made immense contributions to the cause of education , building and protecting the nation.

Former Prime Minister Pham Van Dong once said: "Teaching is the noblest profession among noble professions." Teachers are the keepers of the flame of knowledge, preserving faith for future generations, and are a key factor in determining the quality of human resources – the foundation of national development. Thanks to the dedication and perseverance of the teaching staff, Vietnamese education, especially since the Doi Moi (Renovation) period, has expanded its network, improved its quality, and integrated more deeply with the world .

Over the years, especially during the 80-year journey of revolutionary education, generations of teachers have strived to innovate and develop themselves to better meet the demands of the profession and the country. Now, with the enactment of the Law on Teachers - the first law establishing the legal status, honoring, and developing the teaching staff - this professional development journey will be much smoother.

With its comprehensive regulations on the rights, obligations, policies, training, professional development, and other aspects related to teachers, the Law on Teachers helps each teacher to truly be "enlightened," thereby "lighting up" the future of their students with a new mindset and new responsibilities.

2025 is a special year for the education sector. The Politburo issued Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development, for the first time affirming that "education and training is a top national priority, determining the future of the nation," demonstrating an unprecedented vision, guiding principles, and a sense of responsibility and positioning for education and training.

At the same time, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation also opens up new development opportunities. These two major resolutions pave the way for a new phase of the education sector with many opportunities; but at the same time, they demand great responsibility from each educator and a commensurate attitude, awareness, and action, so as not to betray the trust and reliance of the Party and the people.

Educational reform cannot be achieved solely through policies and resolutions. Reform is only truly successful when each teacher – with their love for the profession, intellect, character, and belief – contributes to bringing about change in each classroom and for each student. The success of education lies not in cramming knowledge or creating brilliant experts, but in igniting in each student a passion, sowing the seeds of aspiration, and fostering creativity.

Education must nurture dreams, cultivate ideals and ethics, spread the values ​​of truth, goodness, and beauty, and the essence of national and human culture, thereby contributing to the formation of the good qualities of Vietnamese people. This requires every teacher to be a shining example of cultivating virtue and talent, loving their profession and loving people.

Without creative and dedicated teachers, there can be no innovative education. Without innovative education, there can be no innovative nation. Educational innovation begins with the teacher. And the future of the country begins there!
