On the afternoon of April 1st, a music night was held at the Ho Chi Minh City Book Street to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the death of musician Trinh Cong Son.
With the theme "Nursery Rhymes of Peace," the program aims to commemorate the 50th anniversary of peace and the end of war – a milestone in history and a source of pride for Vietnamese people before the world .
The musician Trịnh Công Sơn will always be here.
Although the program started at 5 PM, many spectators flocked to Ho Chi Minh City's Book Street from 4 PM onwards, waiting for the music night to begin. Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , some said they arrived early to avoid missing this special moment.
The program attracted not only elderly people with graying hair, but also many young people, students, and foreign tourists. They all shared a common passion and love for Trinh Cong Son's music.

MC Tung Leo, speaking on behalf of the family, said: "Please refer to him as 'musician Trinh Cong Son' instead of 'the late musician Trinh Cong Son.' Because he is still here with us. He is also attending this program today, and we believe that."
The program began with the song "Like a Blue Marble" in a bilingual Vietnamese-English version, performed by a special singer representing the fourth generation of composer Trinh Cong Son's family.
According to MC Tùng Leo, this song was outside the program's script and did not align with the theme of 50 years of peace.
However, after consideration, the family decided to choose this song as the opening because "instead of saying something far-fetched, let's start by saying that everyone has chosen this 'blue marble' as their home."

And indeed, "Like a Blue Marble" was the perfect choice to open the show. Without anyone prompting them, hundreds of audience members began humming along to the familiar melody , "Like a blue marble/This earth spins/Our house is small/In the heart of a homeland...".
Immediately afterwards, the program takes the audience back to the past, revisiting a time of war, suffering, but also full of hope, through the lens of musician Trinh Cong Son. Those were years that can be summed up in one word: waiting – waiting to see the homeland shine brightly.

In the first chapter, the legendary songs range from the poignant longing for peace in songs like "Waiting to See My Homeland Shine Brightly," "Let the Sun Sleep Peacefully," and "Legend of Mother," to the exhilaration of thinking about independence in " What Have We Seen Tonight ?"
One of the highlights of the concert was that the artists – close friends of the late musician Trịnh Công Sơn – always gave their all for the audience.
Despite his limited health and the difficulty of performing on stage, saxophone artist Tran Manh Tuan still delivered a deeply moving performance of two songs , "Em di bo lai con duong" and "Ca dao me" .

Singer Cam Van appeared to enthusiastic applause from her fans. She livened up the atmosphere with the song "Hue, Saigon , Hanoi" - a song about the time when the country was divided and the desire for unity among the three regions.
Witnessing the love for Trinh Cong Son's music from audiences of all ages, singer Cam Van was moved: "Although composer Trinh Cong Son passed away 24 years ago, his music lives on. Thanks to his family, his music grows stronger every day."
"Young people today are also gradually developing a liking for Trinh Cong Son's music, which is a very beautiful and encouraging sign."

Following the melody of peace, Chapter 2 opens with a series of timeless love songs, associated with many generations, under the theme "The Four Seasons Changing Leaves." These include songs like "Pink Rain," "Remembering Love," "White Summer," "Give Life a Little Grace," "Please Give Me," and "Every Day I Choose a Joy"...

A sudden heavy downpour began while Hong Nhung was singing " Let's Love Each Other ." Despite the harsh weather, the audience couldn't be deterred from enjoying Trinh Cong Son's music.

Some people held umbrellas, others braved the rain, but no one left. They sang familiar melodies together, as if Trinh Cong Son's music connected everyone, regardless of the challenges of time and circumstances.
The concert commemorating the 24th anniversary of the death of musician Trịnh Công Sơn concluded with "Nối vòng tay lớn" (Joining Hands in a Great Circle ).
Fifty years ago, he sang this song loudly on Saigon Radio on the day of the great victory. And now, after 50 years, "Joining Hands in a Great Circle " resounds once again with the pride of hundreds of listeners.

"The family chose the theme 'Peaceful Nursery Rhymes' for the concert because this year marks the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification and the 24th anniversary of musician Trinh Cong Son's passing. We are deeply moved and always grateful to the audience who have loved Trinh Cong Son's music."
"Even after 24 years, their love for Trinh Cong Son's music remains strong, growing even more. What's even more encouraging is that today's Gen Z generation is also starting to sing Trinh Cong Son's songs, expressing them in their own unique and wonderful ways," shared singer Trinh Vinh Trinh.
