Over the years, the province has consistently focused on promoting and developing collective economic models and agricultural cooperatives, both in terms of quantity and quality, gradually affirming their role in organizing production, linking, and marketing products for farmers. In particular, through the implementation of the Project "Building Cooperative Groups as a Foundation for Developing Agricultural Cooperatives in the 2021-2025 Period," the Provincial Farmers' Association has concentrated on reviewing and compiling the needs of farming households, especially farm owners and reputable, successful farmer members, to encourage and guide the establishment of cooperative groups with 10-15 members or more, adhering to the principle of ensuring the "5 Selfs, 5 Together" criteria (self-awareness, voluntariness, self-reliance, self-management, self-responsibility; shared aspirations, shared interests, shared responsibilities, and shared benefits). In 2025 alone, the various levels of the Association in the province supported the establishment of 15 new cooperative groups and 7 cooperatives, bringing the total number of models guided by the Association to 503 cooperative groups and 167 cooperatives.

To facilitate access to resources, science and technology, and market expansion for businesses, the Farmers' Association at all levels has effectively implemented projects on improving the capacity to apply information technology and organize production along the value chain. As a result, an automated production process management and supply-demand connection system (MCA) has been established; and three successful models applying IoT technology in crop cultivation and livestock farming have been developed. From 2022 to the present, the Association at all levels has guided the development of hundreds of new products that have achieved OCOP certification of 3 stars or higher.
Besides technical support, efforts to secure financial resources and supplies have also been emphasized. Farmers' associations at all levels have proactively increased the capital of the Farmers' Support Fund, coordinating with banks to facilitate loans for members of cooperatives and associations. Simultaneously, they have signed agreements with businesses supplying high-quality fertilizers and biological products, and collaborated with the provincial Post Office to support farmers in digital transformation in agricultural product consumption.
Thanks to the close support of the Farmers' Association, the basic collective economic models are operating effectively, with increasingly diverse products that meet market demands well and participate deeply in the sustainable value chain. Typical examples include the Nam The Chu Noodle Production and Consumption Cooperative (Nam Duong commune), which has established its brand with a 3-star OCOP product, available in major supermarket chains such as GO, Co.op Mart, Hapro, and exported abroad. The Phi Dien Agricultural Production, Trade and Service Cooperative (Luc Ngan commune) has won over consumers with its clean production process according to VietGAP standards… Many newly established units have also quickly adapted and developed strong products such as: Cao Lan Agricultural and Service Cooperative (Xuan Luong commune), Cuong Nhung Cooperative (Tam Tien commune), Lang Choi Sticky Rice Wine Production and Business Cooperative (Luc Son commune), Huong Son Clean Pineapple Cooperative (Kep commune)...
| The project "Strengthening the participation of agricultural cooperatives in the value chain in the period 2026 - 2030" aims to support at least 100 cooperatives in applying digital technology to production and multi-channel sales; 50 cooperatives in developing key products linked to raw material areas; and the formation of 10-12 exemplary cooperative models operating within the value chain... The total budget for implementation is over 30.5 billion VND. |
Mr. Hoang Van Tien, Director of Huong Son Clean Pineapple Cooperative (Kep commune), said: “Previously, pineapple cultivation in the locality was mainly spontaneous and fragmented, with unstable economic efficiency. In 2021, with the support of the commune's Farmers' Association, the Huong Son Clean Pineapple Cooperative was established and gathered 50 official members and 50 associate members, maintaining a pineapple growing area of about 100 hectares according to VietGAP standards. On average, the Cooperative supplies about 4,000 tons of pineapples to the market each year, generating revenue of over 4 billion VND. In particular, in recent years, the commune's Farmers' Association has continued to support the successful development of OCOP products, helping to increase economic value, boost income for members, and contribute to spreading the local pineapple brand to a wider range of customers and markets in the region.”
To elevate the collective economy towards sustainability and modernization, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just approved the Project "Strengthening the Participation of Agricultural Cooperatives in the Value Chain in the period 2026 - 2030". Accordingly, the project supports at least 100 cooperatives in applying digital technology to production and multi-channel sales; 50 cooperatives in developing key products linked to raw material areas; and the formation of 10-12 exemplary cooperative models operating in the value chain... In particular, the training of "intellectual capital" for cooperative managers in modern business skills will be prioritized… The total implementation cost is over 30.5 billion VND, which is considered a significant boost for the province's agriculture.
Mr. La Van Doan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, said: “Besides the advantages, there will also be many difficulties in implementing the Project “Strengthening the participation of agricultural cooperatives in the value chain in the period 2026 - 2030”. The Farmers' Association will strive to effectively implement this project, contributing to promoting the development of the collective economy and changing the face of the province's agriculture towards sustainable and smart agriculture.”
Currently, the Provincial Farmers' Association has developed specific guidelines and plans for each year to serve as a basis for implementing the Project and ensuring its progress. It coordinates with relevant provincial departments and agencies, specialized committees of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, and other businesses and organizations to integrate and leverage resources for the implementation of the Project's contents. In addition, alongside maintaining support for farmers in terms of seeds, supplies, capital, and technology, the Association focuses on training management skills, supporting e-commerce, and building brands. The goal is for each cooperative to function as a miniature agricultural enterprise, operating transparently, professionally, and with high competitiveness.
