An 8.1 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Mindanao, Philippines, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

The incident was recorded at 23:37 UTC, 58 km from the city of General Santos, a city with a population of approximately 679,000.

The signal source is located at a depth of 57 km. There have been no reports of casualties or damage.
