Minor earthquake in Phu Tho, tremors in Hanoi.

Many residents in Hanoi reported feeling strong tremors for a brief moment. However, the seismological monitoring agency stated that the epicenter was in Phu Tho province.

The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center reported that at 5:46:42 PM on August 26, 2025, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6 Richter occurred in Cao Duong commune, Phu Tho province, at a depth of approximately 16 km.

This earthquake has been assessed at a natural disaster risk level of 0, posing no danger. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation.

At the time of the earthquake, many residents in the Hanoi area reported feeling strong tremors for a few brief seconds, with some even hearing sounds similar to elevator vibrations or loud noises coming from buildings and objects.

Conversely, many people claim they felt no tremors and only learned about the incident after receiving information from the authorities.
