Images of soldiers and civilians working together to pour concrete, build flowerbeds, plant ornamental trees, erect fences, dig drainage ditches, and beautify school grounds and cultural centers have become familiar. This unity and determination not only creates a new look for the countryside but also ignites a meaningful spirit of connection and sharing.

Officers and soldiers of Regiment 841 helped build a drainage ditch in Dong Hoa Vinh village (Cam Xuyen commune, Ha Tinh province).

Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, from Uu Trang village, Cam Xuyen commune, despite being over 70 years old, actively assists the soldiers in transporting bricks for building irrigation ditches. Speaking with us, she said: “Thank you to the soldiers for helping our Uu Trang village build a new rural area. They truly are Ho Chi Minh's soldiers. The village is now beautiful, clean, and its appearance has changed. Seeing the soldiers' enthusiasm, everyone appreciates and is happy, and many people have come forward to contribute.”

Previously, many households in Hamlet 5, Cam Xuyen Commune, were classified as poor. Thanks to the "Poverty Alleviation in Religious Areas" model implemented in the area, Regiment 841, in coordination with the local government, has provided comprehensive support to disadvantaged families, from livestock and crops to dedicated guidance on production and animal husbandry techniques. Officers and soldiers also regularly visit homes to help families renovate their houses, improve their gardens, and develop their economy . This support, combined with the cooperation of the Party Committee, government, and local departments and organizations, has enabled two Catholic families in Hamlet 5 to escape poverty in 2024.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Cong Mao, Political Commissar of Regiment 841, said: In early 2024, the Regiment and Cam Quang commune, Cam Xuyen district (now part of Cam Xuyen commune) signed a fraternal agreement and approved a cooperation program to implement the Project "Improving the quality and effectiveness of mass mobilization work in the period 2023-2030 and beyond".

Implementing the signed agreement, the Regiment mobilized over 300 man-days to help the local community plant 200 new shade trees, build over 200 meters of drainage ditches, and clear 500 meters of irrigation canals in the fields; assisting single-parent families in clearing 3 overgrown gardens, strengthening livestock pens, and developing household economies. It also directed the youth union and women's association to coordinate with local organizations to hold cultural, artistic, and sports exchange activities; and to visit and present gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and those who have contributed to the revolution...

The leaders of Cam Xuyen commune all affirmed to us: The Party Committee, the government, and the people of Cam Quang commune in the past and Cam Xuyen commune today highly appreciate and are grateful for the contributions of the soldiers of Regiment 841. With their responsibility and affection, they have supported the people in eradicating hunger and poverty, accompanied the locality in building new rural areas, contributed to strengthening the solidarity between the military and the people, the solidarity between religious and non-religious people, and enhanced the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the hearts of the people.
