The inter-regional road project, nearly 57 km long, connecting three provinces: Khanh Hoa , Ninh Thuan, and Lam Dong, with a total investment of 1,900 billion VND, broke ground on the afternoon of March 1st.
The project is a Class 3 mountain road, starting at the intersection with National Highway 27C (Khanh Vinh District, Khanh Hoa Province) and ending at the intersection with Provincial Road 656 in Bac Ai District, Ninh Thuan Province. The majority of the route is within Khanh Hoa Province. The roadbed is 9 meters wide, with 2 lanes and is planned to include 17 bridges. The design speed is 60 km/h, except for challenging sections where the speed limit is 40 km/h to ensure safety.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, along with central and local leaders, pressed the button to officially launch the project. Photo: Bui Toan.
Of the more than 1.9 trillion VND invested in the project, 1 trillion VND comes from the central government budget, with the remainder from the local government budget. The road is expected to be completed in 2027.
The project aims to eliminate the sole access route of Provincial Road 9, creating favorable conditions for socio -economic development in the two mountainous districts of Khánh Sơn and Khánh Vĩnh in Khánh Hòa province. At the same time, the project also helps increase connectivity between these localities and Ninh Thuận and Lâm Đồng, promoting socio-economic development among the three provinces.
