In the bustling atmosphere of the early days of the new year, the more than 2km long inter-hamlet road connecting Highway 7 to Mr. Truong Kim Bao's house (Xuan Dinh village) is busy with site preparation. The sturdy fences that were removed to make way for construction are gradually being rebuilt by households after receiving government support.
Knowing that the road would pass in front of his house, Mr. Truong Hai Hung proactively hired an excavator to clear trees and create a clean surface according to the planned route, ensuring it would not affect his family's acacia plantation, in preparation for construction.
Previously, according to the commune's plan and with the consensus of the people, the road was to be widened along the old roadbed, which affected the rice fields. Mr. Hung shared that he is ready to dismantle his workshop and voluntarily donate all the affected garden land to widen the road in accordance with the State's policy.
“With the road widened and straightened as per the revised design, traffic will be more convenient, the village's appearance will be improved, and the socio -economic development of the people will also progress. For the common good, my family supports the road construction project, without considering the pros and cons, even though we know that in this day and age, every inch of land is worth its weight in gold,” Mr. Hung confided.
Not far from Mr. Hung's house, Mr. Truong Kim Ban's household is dismantling 35 meters of their sturdy fence and gate to donate 180 square meters of land for road construction. Households like Nguyen Quoc Huy and Nguyen Duc are rebuilding their fences and gates after demolishing them and determining the road's right-of-way.
Mr. Truong Minh Anh, Secretary of the Party Branch of Xuan Dinh village, shared that the plan to expand the inter-hamlet road has received strong support from the people, as it will create convenient transportation and promote the socio-economic development of the locality. 86 households are affected, with over 6,122 square meters of land; 1,246 meters of solid brick fence, and over 500 meters of semi-solid fence.

In addition, the section from Mr. Truong Hai Hung's house to Mr. Truong Kim Bao's house, over 400 meters long, affected 12 households who also agreed to donate land for the road. Under the mechanism of "the State and the people working together," residents who donated land and relocated solid fences received support of 500,000 VND per meter, and 300,000 VND per meter for semi-solid fences.
“This project also serves as a celebration of the Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress, as identified by the village Party Committee at the beginning of 2025. From there, the Party Committee assigned the People's Committee and the Village Front Committee to focus on mobilizing the people to support the policy of donating land, buildings, and trees to expand the road,” Mr. Anh shared.
Prioritizing resources for upgrading and expanding transportation routes to create momentum for socio-economic development, aiming to achieve the goal of building advanced new rural areas by the end of the 2025-2030 term, was specifically identified by the Party Committee and the government of Chien Dan commune in the first year of implementing the Party's Resolution.
Local leaders focused on holding public meetings to approve policies and implement public investment plans from the very first month of 2026. Village Party branches were guided by the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee to hold discussions, issue specialized resolutions, and lead the implementation of propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to donate land, structures, trees, and crops to expand road infrastructure according to the public investment resolution issued by the Commune People's Council at the end of 2025, achieving positive results.
Mr. Le Van Ninh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chien Dan commune, said that the locality has a great need to expand the road base to 5.5m; solidify the road surface to 3.5m and expand the road base to 7-7.5m; solidify the road surface to 5.5m. Given limited resources, the commune prioritizes investment in urgent projects that have received high levels of public support.
"The most difficult part is still land clearance, so the commune leaders directly went down to the people's homes to hold meetings, fully inform them of the policies, and listen to their concerns. The entire political system got involved in disseminating information and mobilizing the people, thereby achieving a high level of consensus for road construction," Mr. Ninh said.
