Following the directives from the province and Thanh Hoa City, Nam Ngan ward organized a conference to thoroughly understand and seriously implement the directives regarding the merger of Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa City and the establishment of wards within Thanh Hoa City.
In particular, to ensure the quality, effectiveness, and legality of the voter consultation process, the Party Committee of Nam Ngan Ward assigned members of the Standing Committee, Party Committee members, and civil servants to be in charge of and direct each aspect, ensuring clear responsibilities; regularly inspected and supervised the residential groups during the preparation for organizing the voter consultation; and participated with the voter consultation teams in visiting each household to disseminate information, distribute ballots, and collect votes, ensuring objectivity and achieving the best possible results.
The People's Committee of the ward established 11 voter opinion gathering teams with the participation of 121 members. The team leader is the Party branch secretary, and the secretary and members are representatives of the local associations, youth unions, and influential individuals in the residential areas. To prevent errors, the People's Committee of the ward provided training and guidance to the members of the voter opinion gathering teams on how to distribute, fill out, collect, count, and summarize the results of the voter opinion gathering. The People's Committee of the ward also printed and posted materials for voter opinion gathering at the ward's People's Committee office and distributed them to the residential areas for posting at the locations where voter opinion gathering was taking place.
Propaganda efforts were intensified through the ward and street broadcasting systems, the ward's electronic information portal, and neighborhood meetings to ensure voters understood the viewpoints, objectives, roles, and significance of merging Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city. This created consensus and strong determination from the entire political system and all segments of the population.
According to the plan, the voter consultation in Nam Ngan ward will take place over two days (June 1st and 2nd). The ward's People's Council meeting is scheduled for June 7th to approve the plan to merge Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city.
Organizing a public consultation is an important legal basis for implementing the next steps to successfully carry out the plan to merge Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city; it also affirms the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and high consensus of officials, Party members, and the people regarding the major policies of the Party and the State.
