Today's world oil prices
Global oil prices fluctuated sharply last week, rising continuously in the early trading sessions and falling sharply towards the end of the week. At the close of trading last week, WTI crude oil was at $74.96 per barrel, falling to $73.65 per barrel this week. Overall for the week, WTI crude oil decreased by $1.31 per barrel, or 1.7%, compared to the previous week.
Brent crude oil was at $79.02 per barrel at the end of last week, falling to $76.93 per barrel this week. Overall for the week, Brent crude oil decreased by $2.09 per barrel, or 2.6%, compared to the previous week.
Thus, world oil prices have fallen for two consecutive weeks. According to analysts, the sharp drop in oil prices is due to investors weighing expectations of increased OPEC+ supply starting in October, along with dwindling hopes of a significant US interest rate cut next month following data showing strong consumer spending.
Domestic fuel prices today
On September 1st, the retail prices of gasoline and diesel fuel, according to Petrolimex 's published price list in Zone 1 and Zone 2 (applied in 46 provinces and cities), are as follows:
The aforementioned domestic retail fuel prices were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade at the price adjustment session on the afternoon of August 29th. Accordingly, diesel fuel saw the largest decrease, at 299 VND/liter, followed by RON 95-III gasoline at 208 VND/liter. Mazut decreased by 194 VND/kg, and E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 92 VND/liter. Kerosene saw the smallest decrease, at 84 VND/liter.

The discounted prices of petroleum products today, September 1st, at some domestic gas stations are as follows:
Pvoil applies the following discounts on September 1st: Diesel: 1,400 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,350 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,250 VND/liter. These discounts apply at Pvoil Dinh Vu, Petec An Hai, and Cai Lan depots.
Tu Luc fuel company's discounts on September 1st are as follows: Diesel: 1,350 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter.
MIPEC fuel discounts on September 1st: RON 95 - III: 1,200 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,100 VND/liter; diesel: 1,350 VND/liter at Mipec depots.
Forecast of domestic gasoline and diesel prices for the next period.
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic gasoline and diesel prices will fluctuate according to the global oil situation. Based on current market developments, it is predicted that in the next price adjustment period, gasoline and diesel prices may continue to decrease, by about 100-200 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, counting from the price adjustment on January 4th, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 17 times. Diesel prices have increased 16 times and decreased 18 times.
