World oil prices today
World oil prices rose in today's trading session (August 15th, Vietnam time). WTI crude oil was at $77.25 per barrel, up $0.27 per barrel, or 0.35%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at $76.98 per barrel and opened today's session at $77.37 per barrel.
Brent crude oil was trading at $80 per barrel, up $0.23 per barrel, or 0.30%. Brent crude closed the previous trading session at $79.76 per barrel and opened today's session at $79.91 per barrel.
According to Reuters, escalating conflict in the Middle East could put pressure on crude oil supplies from leading oil-producing regions. However, the likelihood of further escalation appears low as Iran believes that new ceasefire talks with Hamas will likely prevent retaliation.
Domestic fuel prices today
On August 15th, the retail prices of gasoline and diesel fuel, according to Petrolimex 's published price list in Zone 1 and Zone 2 (applied in 46 provinces and cities), are as follows:
The aforementioned domestic retail fuel prices were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade at the price adjustment meeting on the afternoon of August 8th. Accordingly, RON 95-III gasoline saw the largest decrease, at 930 VND/liter, followed by E5 RON 92 gasoline at 901 VND/liter. Mazut oil decreased by 858 VND/kg, diesel oil by 737 VND/liter, and kerosene by 684 VND/liter. This marks the fifth consecutive reduction in domestic fuel prices.
Gasoline discounts today
The discounted prices of petroleum products today, August 15th, at some domestic gas stations are as follows:
Pvoil applies the following discounts on August 15th: Diesel: 1,250 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,050 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 850 VND/liter. These discounts apply at Pvoil Dinh Vu, Petec An Hai, and Cai Lan depots.
Tu Luc fuel company's discounts on August 15th are as follows: Diesel: 1,200 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,000 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 800 VND/liter.
MIPEC fuel discounts on August 15th: Gasoline 95-III: 1,000 VND; E5 gasoline: 850 VND; diesel: 1,300 VND/liter
Forecast of domestic gasoline and diesel prices for the next period.
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic fuel prices will fluctuate according to the global fuel situation. It is predicted that fuel prices may increase in this afternoon's price adjustment. Specifically, gasoline prices could rise by 200-300 VND/liter; diesel prices could increase by 100 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, starting from the price adjustment on January 4th, gasoline prices have increased 16 times and decreased 15 times. Diesel prices have increased 15 times and decreased 16 times.
