The Gia Lai Provincial Military Command organized the 2025 military-political conference.

(GLO) - On the morning of December 11th, the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command of Gia Lai Province held a military-political conference to evaluate the results of implementing national defense and military tasks in 2025 and to deploy directions and tasks for 2026. In 2025, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command advised the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to lead and direct the timely, comprehensive, synchronized, and effective implementation of local defense and military tasks. In particular, they focused on reorganizing local military forces in accordance with the policies, conclusions, and roadmap of higher authorities; ensuring the basic completion of building a "lean, efficient, and strong" provincial armed forces.

Along with reasonable adjustments to personnel, the Provincial Military Command has strengthened the organization of training and exercises closely aligned with actual combat situations; emphasizing in-depth training, night training, and focusing on practical application. As a result, officers and soldiers in the provincial armed forces are increasingly honing their combat skills and handling combat situations in all terrains and difficult, complex weather conditions.

In addition, the Provincial Military Command also directed the effective implementation of military recruitment and policies for eligible individuals as prescribed. It directed the development of the militia and self-defense forces, ensuring appropriate numbers, quality, and structure, reaching 1.5% of the population; and Party members reaching 21.38%. The registration, management, organization, arrangement, and mobilization of reserve soldiers and reserve technical equipment for training, exercises, and readiness checks were carried out rigorously, meeting the prescribed targets.

The Provincial Military Command also directed the Provincial Border Guard Command to implement comprehensive measures to manage and protect the national border; coordinate effectively in combating violations and crimes, and maintain political security and social order in border areas, border gates, and seaports…

In 2026, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command, along with the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Armed Forces, are determined to unite, overcome difficulties, comprehensively implement national defense and military work, and successfully complete assigned tasks. This will significantly contribute to fulfilling the central core role in building a solid defense zone, a national defense system based on the participation of all citizens, and a national defense posture integrated with a people's security posture and a strong border defense system.

Speaking at the conference, Major General Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Commander of Military Region 5, acknowledged and commended the comprehensive results achieved by the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command of Gia Lai in 2025. He particularly praised the provincial armed forces for their proactive and responsible approach in disaster prevention, response, and assistance to the people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Regarding the tasks for 2026, the Deputy Commander of Military Region 5 requested the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command to proactively overcome weaknesses and shortcomings; actively promote internal strengths and unity to comprehensively and firmly improve the quality of all aspects of national defense and military work.

The focus is on emulating the building of strong, comprehensive, "exemplary" agencies and units; improving the overall quality and combat strength of the provincial armed forces, ensuring the basic completion of building the provincial armed forces to be "lean, efficient, and strong," creating a solid foundation for striving to build the provincial armed forces to be "revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern."

Simultaneously, focus on effectively implementing key breakthroughs and emulation activities. Especially, improve the overall quality of training and exercises at all levels; build a regular and disciplined system, ensuring adherence to laws and regulations, and maintaining military safety. Emphasis should be placed on building a team of cadres at all levels who possess good moral character, competence, exemplary conduct, dynamism, high responsibility, and effective action.
