The Party's Internal Affairs sector continues to strengthen its efforts in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative practices.

(GLO) - On the afternoon of December 10th, the Central Internal Affairs Commission held a conference to summarize its work in 2025 and implement tasks for 2026. The conference was connected online with provinces and cities nationwide.

Presiding over the conference at the Central Internal Affairs Committee's location were: Comrade Tran Cam Tu - Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party; Comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee; and Comrade Le Minh Tri - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee.

Attending in person at the Central Internal Affairs Committee's location were comrades: Thai Dai Ngoc - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and Dang Vinh Son - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Internal Affairs Committee.

Attending the meeting at the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee's location were Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; and representatives of leaders from relevant departments and agencies.

The report presented at the conference stated that in 2025, the Party's Internal Affairs sector made significant efforts and comprehensively completed the tasks outlined in the work program. It closely coordinated with internal affairs agencies and relevant bodies to strengthen intelligence gathering, promptly advising the Politburo, the Secretariat, and local Party committees on directing the handling of complex issues related to national security and social order, ensuring that no hotspots arise.

The sector has advised and directed the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena in a decisive and coordinated manner. The prosecuting agencies nationwide have made great efforts, demonstrated high determination, and coordinated closely and smoothly to investigate, clarify, and strictly handle many cases and incidents of corruption, waste, and negative phenomena.

Efforts to recover assets and combat corruption, waste, and negative practices have made new progress, achieving many positive results, with a significant increase in the value of recovered assets.

The conference also outlined several key tasks for 2026. These include urgently advising on and seriously and effectively implementing the Party's resolutions on internal affairs, combating corruption, waste, and negative practices, and judicial reform.

Focus on researching and advising the Central Committee to issue a new resolution on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative practices to meet the requirements of the new situation.

To advise and direct the review, amendment, supplementation, and rectification of loopholes and inadequacies, and to remove bottlenecks and obstacles in institutions and laws in general, and in the fields of internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-waste, and judicial reform in particular, creating new impetus for the socio-economic development of the country.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Comrade Tran Cam Tu, Member of the Political Bureau and Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, requested the entire sector to build upon achievements, overcome shortcomings and limitations, and effectively implement tasks in the coming period.

Comrade Tran Cam Tu also emphasized the key issues that need to be addressed in the coming period. Accordingly, the internal affairs sector needs to focus on researching, understanding, and effectively implementing the policies, tasks, and solutions regarding internal affairs, combating corruption, waste, and negative practices, and judicial reform.

At the same time, review and urgently complete the projects and work programs of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat. Urgently research, advise, and issue a Central Committee resolution on strengthening the Party's leadership over the fight against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena in the new period.

Focus on advising and directing investigations, inspections, and the decisive handling of corruption and negative cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee and provincial-level Steering Committees, ensuring strict enforcement and preventing prolonged delays.

The advisory role involves directing inspection, control, and prevention of corruption and negative practices, building a truly honest and people-oriented local government at both levels, proactively resolving complaints and denunciations at the grassroots level, preventing delays and the emergence of hotspots.

Permanent member of the Party Central Committee Tran Cam Tu also requested the Party's Internal Affairs sector to consolidate and strengthen the apparatus of the Internal Affairs committees at all levels; further improve the effectiveness of monitoring, gathering information, urging, guiding, inspecting, and supervising internal affairs work and the prevention and fight against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena in localities and central ministries and agencies.
