Dong Nai tourism reaches international standards.

Nature destination wins international award.

In recent years, Dong Nai 's tourism industry has consistently achieved impressive results with numerous international awards.

Most recently, at the 18th ASEAN Environment Ministers Meeting in Malaysia in early September 2025, Dong Nai National Park was recognized as one of three national parks in Vietnam as an ASEAN Heritage Park.

According to Ms. Dinh Thi Lan Huong, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Cultural and Natural Reserve, to be recognized as an ASEAN Heritage Park, the Dong Nai Cultural and Natural Reserve must meet 12 criteria, including: ecological integrity, representativeness, naturalness, high conservation importance, legal compliance of the nominated area, approved management plan, and transboundary nature… With the title of ASEAN Heritage Park, the Dong Nai Cultural and Natural Reserve in particular and the Dong Nai tourism industry in general will have a great opportunity to exchange information, learn from management, conservation and promotion experiences among ASEAN Heritage Parks within the ASEAN bloc. In addition, this is also an opportunity to promote the image of Dong Nai province to a wide range of organizations and individuals in the ASEAN bloc and around the world.

By 2025, Dong Nai aims to welcome 4.2 million tourists for sightseeing and relaxation. This includes over 4 million domestic tourists and approximately 130,000 international visitors. The province strives to achieve tourism service revenue of 3.4 trillion VND, a 41.6% increase compared to 2024.

Previously, in 2024, Cat Tien National Park in Nam Cat Tien commune, Dong Nai province, was officially recognized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as the 72nd protected area in the world to receive the IUCN Green List designation.

According to Pham Xuan Thinh, Director of Cat Tien National Park, Cat Tien is the first national park in Vietnam to achieve the IUCN Green List, a global recognition of the park's efforts in conserving and restoring forest ecosystems and biodiversity. The IUCN Green List is a global standard for protected and conservation areas, providing a measure of success in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. Beyond its value in conserving biodiversity and upholding green criteria, Cat Tien National Park is also a green tourism and ecotourism destination, contributing to the park's sustainable development strategy.

Towards community values

Not only are tourism products derived from the natural beauty of the mountains and forests unique, but some tourism products created by local people also possess their own distinctive characteristics, showcasing the unique features of each product. In Dong Nai, from 2024 to the present, many destinations are community-based tourism products, including two that have received major international awards: the Panorama Glamping destination in La Nga commune received the Glamping Destination award at the prestigious World Luxury Travel Awards 2024; and the Ta Lai Eco Lodge in Ta Lai Community Tourism Village, Ta Lai commune, was announced by the ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Certification Program (ICRT-SEA) as the winner of the Southeast Asia Responsible Tourism Award 2025.

As the founder of Ta Lai Eco Lodge, Ka Tuyen, a young woman of the Ma ethnic group, shared: Ta Lai Eco Lodge is an ecotourism model that embodies the natural and cultural values ​​of the Ma ethnic minority in Ta Lai commune. Along with domestic tourism products participating in the international competition, Dong Nai province also organizes and participates in many events related to trade, services, tourism, and environmental protection at domestic and international forums such as: organizing the Elephant Conservation Week 2025; launching the Biodiversity Conservation Knowledge Contest; participating in the 5th UNESCO World Conference on Biosphere Reserves in Zhejiang Province, China… These activities contribute to enhancing Dong Nai's position in environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and forest ecosystem development. They also provide a basis for Dong Nai to promote its nature, culture, and people in tours and routes targeting domestic and international tourists.
