With over 390,000 visitors and tourists arriving, a fourfold increase compared to the April 30th and May 1st holiday in 2022, Ha Tinh's tourism industry is entering a period of strong growth.
Xuan Thanh Beach (Nghi Xuan District) was bustling with tourists during the recent April 30th and May 1st holiday.
With a well-prepared and meticulous approach to infrastructure and a series of cultural and sporting events at tourist areas and destinations throughout the province starting in mid-April 2023, Ha Tinh's tourism industry has been vibrant even before the summer season. In particular, the elaborate opening ceremony of Ha Tinh's 2023 beach tourism season, held at Xuan Thanh Tourist Area (Nghi Xuan) on April 22nd, was broadcast live on television and retransmitted by 35 television stations nationwide, creating a strong impact and attracting the attention of tourists from all over.
All of these factors have made coastal tourist areas and destinations throughout the province very vibrant during this year's April 30th and May 1st holiday.

Ms. Duong Thi Oanh, owner of Kim Oanh Seafood Restaurant (Xuan Thanh Tourist Area), said: “I have never witnessed such a large number of visitors flocking to Xuan Thanh beach during the April 30th and May 1st holidays as this year. During the 5-day holiday, the restaurant served approximately 4,000 customers, with peak days seeing around 120 tables of 10 people. Despite the high number of customers, thanks to our preparations, we always ensured food safety and hygiene, maintained listed prices, and provided timely and attentive service.”
Cars were densely packed in front of seafood restaurants in Xuan Thanh Tourist Area on the afternoon of May 1st.
According to the Xuan Thanh Tourist Area Management Board, during the 5-day holiday, the area welcomed over 40,000 visitors; all accommodation facilities were fully booked, with occupancy reaching 100% during the first three days alone.
Thien Cam Beach Resort (Cam Xuyen District) was also fully booked during the April 30th and May 1st holiday. Over the past five days, it welcomed over 70,000 visitors, with approximately 6,000 staying overnight. Mr. Hoang Van Duc, Director of the Thien Cam Trade Union Hotel, said: “The hotel currently has 90 rooms available to serve tourists. In the first four days of the holiday, the occupancy rate reached 100%. Even so, the demand from tourists to visit Thien Cam Beach remains very high. We regret having to turn down many bookings during this period.”
With 70,000 tourists flocking to Thien Cam beach during the 5-day holiday, hotels and guesthouses there were fully booked.
Despite being relatively new to tourism, thanks to its beautiful scenery, attentive services, fresh seafood, and strong promotional efforts, Loc Ha beach resort has become well-known to many tourists from both within and outside the province. During this holiday period, Loc Ha beach welcomed 90,000 visitors who came to sightsee, swim, and use the services (including 60,000 at Xuan Hai beach and 30,000 at Melia Vinpearl Cua Sot).
Ms. Tran Thi Thao (a tourist from Vinh City, Nghe An province) said: “Ha Tinh has many beautiful beaches, and its tourism services and products are becoming increasingly diverse… which is why we chose it as our destination for the long holiday on April 30th and May 1st this year.”

Not only coastal tourist areas and destinations, but also historical sites, ecological and spiritual tourism areas such as Dong Loc Crossroads, Huong Tich Pagoda (Can Loc); Da Bac Eco (Thach Ha); Hai Thuong Lan Ong (Huong Son)... have welcomed thousands of visitors during the recent long holiday.
Mr. Vo Thanh Chung, Head of the Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area Management Board, said: “Besides welcoming 5,000 visitors, a 40% increase compared to the same period in 2022, we are also very pleased that most of the tourists visiting the pagoda during this holiday were tour groups from other provinces. This is a group of customers with high demand for tourism products, helping to increase revenue for businesses.”

According to a report from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the 5-day holiday period of April 30th and May 1st this year, tourist areas and destinations throughout the province welcomed over 390,000 visitors, a fourfold increase compared to the same period in 2022. This included 30,000 domestic tourists and 1,300 international visitors. The average occupancy rate across the province reached approximately 75% (a 6% increase compared to the same period in 2022), with coastal tourist areas achieving an 85% occupancy rate throughout the holiday. Many localities experienced a large number of visitors, such as Cam Xuyen (102,000), Loc Ha (90,000), Nghi Xuan (80,000), Thach Ha (over 63,000), and Hong Linh town (10,000)...
Thus, from the beginning of the year until now, tourist areas and attractions throughout the province have welcomed over 1,145,000 visitors, reaching nearly 46% of the 2023 plan. The growth in the number of tourists during the recent holiday period demonstrates that Ha Tinh's tourism industry is entering a period of strong acceleration.
A group of 40 tourists from Hanoi experienced a pilot model of community-based tourism in Phu Lam village (Phu Gia commune, Huong Khe district) during the recent April 30th and May 1st holiday.
Besides objective factors such as the long holiday period this year and favorable weather, the active involvement of the entire political system, from the tourism industry to local authorities at all levels, in preparing infrastructure, enhancing promotion, and launching beach tourism early... is a particularly important factor in attracting tourists to Ha Tinh during the April 30th and May 1st holidays.
The achievements will serve as motivation for the tourism industry to continue striving to reach and surpass the set target of welcoming 2.5 million visitors in 2023.
