Ms. Le Thi Hong Tuoi (Hamlet 2, My Long Commune), who has two plots of cucumbers, said: "Entering the rainy season, cucumber yields have decreased, with an average harvest of only about 50 kg per day. Currently, cucumbers are being bought by traders at a price of over 20,000 VND/kg. The harvesting period lasts about a month, so growers have a decent income. However, heavy rains also increase the risk of pests and diseases, forcing farmers to intensify care to protect yield and product quality."
According to the People's Committee of My Long commune, in the first six months of the year, the entire commune planted over 3,000 hectares of various crops, harvested nearly 3,000 hectares, and achieved a yield of nearly 49,000 tons. Overall, agricultural production in the area remained stable. In the coming period, the locality will continue to focus on directing economic development towards sustainability, linked with restructuring the agricultural sector and increasing production value. At the same time, it will proactively monitor market developments to guide farmers in appropriate production, contributing to minimizing risks in agricultural production.
